This is a well done adaptation, I really like the idea of the -2d malus to avoid any risk of hitting an ally. It's true that the fact of hitting an ally for sure in the case of shooting without malus leaves me a bit puzzled, especially in the case of a melee including more opponents than allies. However, reading your explanations again, it is coherent. Thanks for the ideas !

In my experience, the rules as written do not discourage players from firing into melee.
