Re: Chaos Rising? What is it?
Quoted from one of the updates on the DCC RPG 4th printing Kickstarter: This will be a new module of approximately 64 pages that includes several of the shorter DCC modules previously published in other, harder-to-find formats. The compilation module is tentatively slated to include the following ad...

Re: clerics It's not listed in Appendix N as one of the influences, but I'm *certain* one of the main influences for the AD&D cleric is Archbishop Turpin from the Song of Roland. At the very least, that's where the "clerics only use blunt weapons" thing seems to come from. Edit to clar...

Re: Info from Past Road Crews
Send an email to info@goodman-games.com with the relevant info (where, when, what adventure, etc) at least 30 days before the game is scheduled (though I think the 30 days has been pretty flexible). In the past, that's all you've really needed to do. If you have a post-game writeup and/or pictures, ...

To my knowledge the first book (Elric of Melnibone) is the only one that has any of the action taking place in Imrryr, but it has been a while since I've read some of them.catseye yellow wrote:guys i need a list of elric stories that are at least partially set in melnibone and have worthhile info on the dreaming city.

Re: Spells FX overlap
If a player asked me if a wizard could stack shield spells, I'd grin evilly and reply, "You don't know until you try it." But I think I'm kind of siding with GnomeBoy on this one. Each casting of the spell is a risk, and risk should have a reward. I'd let the wizard stack the spells, but a...

Re: DCC RPG 4th printing: What do you want?
it would be nice to know if we'll be hit with some other ks soon after this one (like lankhmar or journey to the center of aereth). I do not know the Dark Master's plans, but I think I recall hearing that the Mutant Crawl Classics KS would be happening near the end of the year. Maybe I heard that a...

Re: Holding Actions
I'd probably make a house rule involving an Agility check if you want to interrupt an action. If you make it, you interrupt and go first. If you fail, you're just barely too slow and the monster's action goes off first.

Hello!
It's a bit far for a regular game, but if you ever find yourself in Louisville let me know! I'll try to gather some people and run a one-shot.

From the front page: DCC RPG fourth printing – The Kickstarter for the fourth printing of the Dungeon Crawl Classic RPG rulebook is coming soon! This will be your chance to get the great new covers hot off the press (here’s a hint…one of the new covers involves silver foil, and the other is by an ar...

Re: Mutant Crawl Classics Classes?
The preview in the Gen Con Program Guide included only two of the classes: the Shaman and the Mutant. It mentions that for Mutants, Plantients, and Manimals their genotype is their class, so these would be comparable to demihumans race as class in standard DCC, I suppose. The Shaman is a pure human ...

I'm torn. Generally I think I prefer the Koplow dice, but some of them are ridiculously huge. So I put a set of each kind in front of me and roll whichever I grab first.

DCC RPG 4th printing: What do you want?
You may have heard that the third printing of the DCC RPG rulebook is now sold out. That means it's time for us to start working on the fourth printing! The third printing had the slipcover edition as well as the regular edition, and we at Goodman Games want to do a special edition fourth printing a...

No indication yet of when they're coming out other than "the future", but last year's Gen Con guide says these are in the pipeline: The 998th Conclave of Wizards by Jobe Bittman Journey to the Center of Aereth by Harley Stroh The Dread God Al-Khazadar by Daniel Bishop The Four Phantasmagor...

1. Huh, I didn't know about that rule. 2. Sometimes...I usually run at cons with people who aren't really familiar with the system, so sometimes I try to remind them of the luck burning mechanic. If they roll close, but fail, I'll be like "You can spend two points of Luck to succeed..." Es...

Re: The Secret Origins of DCC RPG
This was an interesting discussion because a lot of folks to wanted more levels referred to a level-5 cap being a "deal breaker" and I think some of that pressure is what caused the higher levels to be added in. I would like to have seen a "DCC Basic" rules set that strips away ...

Most of the stuff that "is" DCC RPG was already in the game by the time I was brought into the fold, so I don't have a lot of stories to share. But I have a couple that might be mildly interesting. [*]I remember being involved in a discussion about what dwarves' special abilities should be...

The shrine is a series of tunnels... Once you enter the labrynth, the airborn spores enter your body and over the course of a few hours, the players suffer effects similar to corruption. Maybe every character rolls on an effect table at the end of every encounter (6 or 7 potential encounters advent...
