INT check will always be against a DC unless otherwise mentioned.
Well, the fish doesn't make it to the mouth, but splatters across the reptiles chest. In any case, there is absolutely no reaction or motion.
In terms of the painting, after a bit of studying, you realize that there is no code or message; the small dabs of paint, when viewed from a distance, comprise the whole images on the canvas in a way you never considered doing before.

— dun-Dun-DUNN!!!
Tarr, not saying a word, leaves the room, returning to the 'central' room. He spins slowly around with the Demon-mark raised, eventually settling on the way east.
He waits for others to finish their explorations, fixing his eyes on the eastward door.

Re: Frozen in Time - As a 0-level funnel
Ok, you probably don't recall (but Tarr would), that the east door is the one you entered the 'central' room, or foyer, from.
As a reminder, this was when you entered via the East door:
As a reminder, this was when you entered via the East door:
Outside, you see a 30' square chamber, the floor shining under bizarre glowing panels overhead. Patches of ice and puddles of slush cover the entire floor. As you slush into the 30' square room, you now see that four hallways exit the room, one at each compass point. You are entering through the eastern door. The ice is more prevalent near the north corridor, while the slushy puddles are more concentrated toward the southern hallway.
The southwest corner of this room is slightly rounded, and contains a door set into the wall. There is a small circular indentation in the center of the door.

Re: Frozen in Time - As a 0-level funnel
Voorak emerges from the room, and skirting Tarr, goes to the southwest door. If there is a palm-thingy, he tries it.
[Behind the curtain: Tarr thinks he is getting messages or signals from the "demon-mark". If his hand had an itch when it was aimed at that door, he'd take it as a sign. Also, going back is an option (I assume), and realistically maybe we've missed stuff, so it might be as good as any other direction!]
Also, have we gone west yet? North was the slushy room with the hole in the ceiling, yeah?

It works! The door opens with a whoosh, and the lights blink on, revealing another tube rising upward.GnomeBoy wrote:Voorak emerges from the room, and skirting Tarr, goes to the southwest door. If there is a palm-thingy, he tries it.
No, you have not gone west yet. The western door has a silver indentation in the center. The northern room was the frozen one with the injured Yeti and the hole in the ceiling, yes.GnomeBoy wrote:Also, have we gone west yet? North was the slushy room with the hole in the ceiling, yeah?

Does the tube only go up?
Voorak will step over to the western door, and attempt to open that as well, spear at the ready for something to charge out at him.

OOC: If you mean from where you're standing, yes. This is the bottom level for this tube. As to whether you can come back down the tube the way you go up, you have yet to determine that.GnomeBoy wrote:Does the tube only go up?
Voorak will step over to the western door, and attempt to open that as well, spear at the ready for something to charge out at him.
The western door opens just like the others. You see an octagonally shaped room about the size of the garden room you entered from to the East (about 50' x 50'). Burnished metal countertops, tables and chairs occupy the room, indicating that it once served as a food preparation and eating area. Several compartments with small doors are set high up on the walls surrounding the cooking area.
Entering the tube in the foyer, Myrna and Kurr rise slowly upward for about 10 seconds where they find themselves facing another door with a square metal pad next to it.

The door to the tube opens to reveal a corridor running east-west. A door stands at each end of the hallway. Other than a long-dead potted plant across from the tube's exit, the corridor is empty.Fenris Ulfhamr wrote:Myrna pushes the square.

They open easily, and they house cups, dishes and eating utensils made of some unknown compound. Below them, set into the wall, is what seems to be a 12" wide by 6" tall glass door with a handle on the right side. Next to the handle are various buttons.GnomeBoy wrote:Voorak will prod at some of those compartments with his spear, see if he can nudge any of them open...

Re: Frozen in Time - As a 0-level funnel
The silver "palm-disc" held by Tarr seems to have no effect when used in the gold indentation. The door stays closed.
The group moves to the west, and Tarr successfully opens that door with a whoosh.
The door opens upon a brightly lit chamber. The walls are decorated with large black rectangles and the floor is covered by plush carpeting. A handful of comfortable furnishings occupy the area beyond the door, forming a cozy seating area.
The far end of the room, from about 30' onward, is an elevated space, accessible by a short flight of steps. In this area is a large bed draped with shiny, rumpled dressings. Besides the bed are several odd metal devices.
A 3' diameter sphere, its underbelly studded with spikes and unidentifiable protrusions, hangs in mid-air at the foot of the bed. It spins slowly in place, alerted by the opening of the room's door, and begins gliding toward you, its many spines gleaming in the glow of the light panels above.
