Sorry, but I am in Canada.

I imagine that a lot of those views, like mine, are people who check out all the active topics, but have nothing helpful to say.

Moreover, I'm not really against doing something online, but I don't own a mic and I think that's a dealbreaker for a lot of people. In addition, I'm not really a super great typer.
You're welcome.

I've never run or participated in an online game....but there should be someone near you. G+ used to be great for connecting with locals.

(If linking to other RPG sites isn't against forum policy, though I couldn't find one) If you're looking for collaborative story-telling you may want to check out RPG Crossing (https://www.rpgcrossing.com), a fantastic pbp (play by post) forum. Typing speed and mics are unimportant as game play isn't real-time but can be at a rate of several posts per hour to one or two per week. They host a multitude of different RPG systems, they have a terrific community of creative people, you can discuss everything from rules to world building, and you can start running your own games almost immediately. As far as I know, DCC hasn't shown up yet...

I realize this is many months later, but I'm in a similar situation and located not far from you. PM me if you're still looking for some RPG buddies.

I looked and now I figure I ought to say something ... Hi! I've been to Houston. Nice place, esp. in the fall.

Another source for finding folks, but it won't run high to DCC: https://www.rpgtablefinder.com/. And this mayn't suit your circumstances or personality, but a few years ago I bumped my typing up a lot by practicing 10-15 minutes a day; there are free programs, I think I was able to purchase Mavis Beacon which isn't much fun but did work. On the other hand, I was desperate for a break from some really stressful work so unless you are similarly desperate it mightn't be worth your while :) .

Have you tried your FLGS?

Also, have you checked the Goodman Games Community resources? The Facebook page is very active!

Not sure how I missed this thread before... but the page views are misleading -- the site is crawled by bots all the time, so page view counts can be highly inflated. It's pretty regular to kill spam posts (which is why everyone's first posts are moderated).

So each view is not someone going "Houston!? I'm in Houston!"
