Converting 3E/4E DCC Modules to DCC RPG Rules: Guidelines
I was wondering if we could start a thread here that compiles all the tips, guidelines, scales, etc. people have used to successfully convert from 3E and 4E to DCC RPG. My general conversion method is more to just totally strip out all stats and "stat from scratch" as it were, basing off of comparable monster types in the DCC RPG core rules and official DCC RPG modules, but maybe there are some things that are not so obvious.
Here's one I just picked up in these forums that would not have occurred to me:
2 D&D experience levels = 1 DCC experience level

You could take a module like Tower of the Black Pearl or Well of the Worm which were created for the 3e era and converted to DCC RPG as a jumping off point for how things are done.
I'm pretty sure they were both in DCC 29 The Adventure Begins.

Curse of the Kingspire and Dragora's Dungeon were both originally written for 4e.

I find that 3e is easier to convert than 4e, but the Harley Stroh adventures for 4e are well worth the effort.GnomeBoy wrote:Sorry, I should have mentioned those! Re: Converting 3E/4E DCC Modules to DCC RPG Rules: Guideline
Thanks. I just bought all of the 3e DCC modules during the DTRPG sale (at $1 each, how could I not). Any tips on converting to DCC RPG?I find that 3e is easier to convert than 4e, but the Harley Stroh adventures for 4e are well worth the effort.

The above link was expanded upon in DAMN #1.

Yep, did the same thing: that $50 vanished pretty quickly.herecomethejudge wrote: Thanks. I just bought all of the 3e DCC modules during the DTRPG sale (at $1 each, how could I not).

And Raven-Crowking’s advice is excellent. (As always).
