Old AD&D Covers restored
After hearing how the original TSR artwork was lost or thrown away I felt inspired to do my own restoration campaign. I scanned the original artwork from my aging stash of D&D books so the artwork won't be perfect. Hopefully, using Photoshop, I was able to adaquately restore some of the original printed artwork. Enjoy!

Re: Old AD&D Covers restored
Not really sure what your purpose is. You might possibly be committing copyright infringement, though. WotC is kind of a bitch about that, I think.
Re: Old AD&D Covers restored
Very cool. Also, I doubt WotC is going to give a damn about posting photoshopped covers of adventures they no longer sell.
Re: Old AD&D Covers restored
These are excellent. Good job.
I'd be nervous about copyright though. I think WoTC fully intend to resell this stuff soon.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering the same thing (copyright-wise). If that's the case, then they/we can take them down easy enough. Until then...

Also, that would be sweet if they did reprint these. Even sweeter would be if the old artists could new additional artwork for them.

Re: Old AD&D Covers restored
Just a thought...have you tried WoTC to see if they might pay you for your efforts?
If they are reprinting then maybe you just saved them some time and effort?

Re: Old AD&D Covers restored
I'm not sure they'd go for that. Besides, their source material is probably better than mine and they probably have someone that can do it faster. Also, I'm just doing this for the fun of it.

Re: Old AD&D Covers restored
This thread reminds me of just how cool so many of the old TSR modules were, and by extension how cool so many of the new DCC modules are.
I love the fact that the artwork on the module covers grabs you and makes you want to play the adventure.
