Incorporating gods in your game

Post by LeMaster of the Wise »

Plan on running DCC in a campaign setting with the Norse Gods being the pantheon. How would you do the gods with the 3-point alignment system?

For example:
Heimdal - Lawful
Loki - Chaotic
Odin - Neutral
Aegir - Chaotic (it's all about the ocean being unpredictable, not necessarily about being malicious)
Balder - Neutral
Bragi - Neutral
Forseti - Lawful
Frey - Neutral
Freya - Neutral
Friga - Lawful
Hel - Neutral
Idun - Neutral
Magni - Neutral
Modi - Chaotic (because of Berserker rage but in a good way?) or Neutral
Sif - Neutral
Thor - Neutral
Tyr - Lawful
Uller - Neutral
Vidar - Neutral

AD&D described most of the Norse pantheon as some sort of Chaotic with very few Lawful deities. I'm going Neutral on most of that bunch as they weren't overly concerned with the moral arguments (unless you were an oath breaker) and generally wanted to do their own thing. Loki as the god of mischief is the only one that stands out as deeply Chaotic (for the sake of Chaos and selfishness) in the definition of DCC.
