It's hard to get honest feedback in person. I'm having a hard time "finding an audience" with my work, like it's generally doesn't have the impact that I think it should. I don't know, is there something off putting about my work? Or am I showing it to the wrong people?
My influences mostly come from indie comics, Euro comics, all types of books really, and music.

Re: Feedack?
I think they are fun, evocative illustrations. They aren't as hard-edged nor as retro as stuff from DCC (more sort of 'fairy-tale-ish' (not a criticism)) -- but I see no reason why you couldn't find an audience for them if you tried.

Yeah, they're definitely more "modern" than the DCC stuff. They're a lot lighter too, or softer, I can't tell which. I've mellowed out and now find myself doing more kid friendly stuff.GnomeBoy wrote:I think they are fun, evocative illustrations. Re: Feedack?
Just realized one thing they put me in mind of: Boardgames.
RPG art can be all over the map, but is generally more gritty in one way or another -- but there are lots of boardgames that might involve 'creatures' with 'weapons' but that are rendered in a softer, more 'family-friendly' manner.
I could totally see that big color art piece on the box for some sort of "Goblin invasion' dice game or card game or what-have-you.

That's very insightful of you! When I made these, I was on a boardgame kick and was aspiring to make my own. You're right though. For this style, a boardgame or something similar would work well together.GnomeBoy wrote:Just realized one thing they put me in mind of: Boardgames.
