Re: Print version importance
Is there a significant difference in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th printing of the rule book? Information I've seen so far is that the first printing did not include an index but other than typo corrections and some minor errata is there a concern with picking up earlier versions to use as spares at t...

Re: NPC exposition and endless flavor text
You could always just post here and ask for a critique or ask for volunteers you can email to text to. Another option to build player investment in the story is to give each of them a bullet point and ask them to explain what it means. Let them build the backstory and possibly tie their (soon to be ...

Re: Ran my first adventure
wrote my own funnel adventure to start a campaign of DCC for the family. I'd like to say with pride I did good. They promptly went around the house making sure all the doors and windows were shut and locked 15 min into the adventure. Sounds like you have elicited a response, lol. This is always a g...

Re: Core rulebook .pdf
After further investigation I found them, thanks Jon!
My iPad is getting old and slow when it comes to some larger files (Call of Cthulhu 7th ed, Dresden Files, etc.). How does the Pro model hold up to larger (100MB plus) files?

Re: Generating loot for "corpses of countless victims,..."
If your campaign has an above average economy (or had in the past when most of the bodies found their way to the location) then a quick multiplier for the average money. Weapons and armor will likely be ruined by the passage of time and the rust/rot resulting for the bodily fluids of the victims. En...

Re: Core rulebook .pdf
Changed the app I was using to read it and problem solved!
For anyone making the same mistake as me, the Adobe reader app does what you need (I was using GoodReader before).

Southern IN DCC?
Any games happening in the South West corner of Indiana?
I'm located in Huntinburg but work in the Evansville area so pretty open to location.

That makes sense as I don't recall any throughout the text.ThickSkullAdv wrote:My latest version (4th printing) has bookmarks, but it does not contain in-text hyperlinks.

My iPad is at home and I couldn't remember if the table of contents had links or not...to busy whipping past that to get to the nifty bits I suppose.
Thanks!

Re: First Time Judge
Might be a little late to the game with this but on the question of how to make the Halfling shine: Use the character size as a benefit (i.e. facing smaller foes in their home environs). Big dumb humans can't follow the Kobolds into their warren to recover the mcguffin but the Halfling can. Challeng...

Re: Are there Elves and Dwarves in Lankhmar?
None that I am aware of. No clerics listed either.
One of the books in the boxed set will include options for running the game without non human races or clerics but if that's your jam, keep them in.

Seconded,Raven_Crowking wrote:I would require the attack to succeed.
It reads as if it's implied with "Any attack by the cleric during this period" ( maybe they should add the word THAT ) "delivers normal damage" in the following entries.

Re: Judge input on Paralysis Spell.
This seems to be different in the fourth printing (page 268): 12-13 "The cleric’s hands and melee weapons are charged with the energy of paralysis. The cleric must make a normal attack on his next round. If it succeeds, he causes normal damage and his enemy must make a Will save or be paralyzed...

Hi there! Like most I'm a recent convert from the old days. I started with the little brown books my brother brought home from college and graduated to the Modlvay B/X soon after. His next trip home brought the AD&D hardbacks and I was over the moon. I was a heavy AD&D fan until the beginnin...

There's a book (title is escaping me ATM) about a group of Dwarves who are professional dungeon cleaners. They use several methods to check halls and rooms for traps that feel very DCC (chickens being one of them, barrels being another). The protagonist is a human who is mistaken for someone else an...

Lankhmar PDFs for $2 on Drive Thru RPG
Picked up all the Lankhmar mods last night for $2 each. Some good stuff (whipped through the Patrons over breakfast this morning) in there and it's got me excited about the boxed set.
