Re: Avoiding corruption/misfire with luck
I have little experience with wizards honestly, but I didn't tell my players that corruption could be avoided I like corruption. It's cool.
We play a story-oriented game though, so spellcasting is not that frequent. Most game sessions we cast only a few spells.

Re: Forgive me, I know not what I do...
I arrange it so that the PCs will level up when the first adventure is finished, after a few gaming sessions. Then, there is down time between the two adventures for the PCs, and they learn their new class during that down time. When we start the next session, it is assumed that a few years have pas...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
Brother Sufferus thinks about his options. These creatures could well serve the Maimed One, if need be. "Let us leave these bodies to their decaying fate. They are not part of the living anymore." And matter-of-factly, he moves towards the stairs where the others wait. "After you.&quo...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
Do they breathe? Do their eyes move? Do their fingers twitch? Does it seem that their bodies and organs are nests for the maggots? If he thinks that they are indeed dead, could it be that they are... un-dead? Or otherwise somehow hosts for the maggots? Bile rises in his mouth as Brother Sufferus thi...

Maledict remains close to Han, ready for anything. He looks at the dwarves, thinking about the grim job that he might come to have to do. "Give me the strength, if need be, Lady Blackrush..." Meanwhile Sufferus does not even look at the thief as he continues to inspect the room, still care...

"May be, Brother Sufferus,' says Yoros, "we can get our bearings by helping these Dwarves, perhaps. You heal them -- they help us..." Brother Sufferus frowns, visibly irritated. "Instead of stating the first absurd thought to cross your mind, be silent. Pain is redemption. You m...

Sufferus enters the room with glee. "This is fantastic. Some sort of experiment is probably taking place here." He looks about, careful however not to touch anyone or anything, for fear of catching something. Maledict, on the other hand, is horrified. "What sort of evil...? We must ta...

Re: How do characters carry bows when not in use?
I still think it would be nice to know how bows were secured to people when not is use...medieval style. Never know, if in a game, that knowledge might come useful. My relatively uninformed guess is that bows not in use would more or less always be unstrung and carried around as sticks. You're eith...

Re: New Unofficial Armor and Weapon Rules Beta
I'm not sure about the tables being turned however, providing advantage to the shorter weapons. At any time, that reach could come into play, e.g. when moving back and forth, the dagger-wielder will need to again come into the greatsword's reach. Personally, I'd stick with the "longer reach&qu...

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4EZX_T8yDmPdHo2TVZQUFJNRVU/edit?usp=sharing I have taken some of your ideas Skyscraper, and sort of mixed them with some inspiration from some other RPGs. See if this new version makes sense, the third page explains the rules. One way I could change it further is m...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS
General rules apply: If someone suggests a course of action, and no objection is made in a reasonable time, that course of action is attempted, even if it means someone directs someone else's character to do something. Since Fred's player is apparently not active anymore, I was looking at this more...

Re: Time Travel
How about including an alternate timeline in the very place and time they live in? Like the old Star Trek series show where Kirk (and McCoy?) had a transporter problem, and they ended up in a parallel universe where the entire Starfleet Federation was evil; Spock had a beard, and so on. So the same ...

Re: Dodge and Parry in DCC combat
When the request for defensive fighting came up last in our campaign it was when the paladin was trying to hold a doorway against a horde of desert ghouls while the cleric struggled to get a successful turn unholy off. The character said that he didn't care if he hit any ghouls -- there were so man...

Thanks for the replies! I learn interesting info in here :) For the axe: Good stuff, this is one thing I learned (and the half-sword combat). On the arbalest being 0 DEF, my question was more: why does the flail provide a penalty (-1) to DEF, while the arbalest provides none? I can't see the flail a...

Re: Time Travel
That's a really good point. You could be getting into very hard answer territory though . I'd assume everything was some kind of fantasy version of a time period, with a foundation in some real time period but…. of coarse, It doesn't half to be. There is always the second level of imagination too, ...

Re: Time Travel
Are the PCs located on planet earth in a geographical/historical reality? If so, the other suggestions sound good; if not, I'd consider how the world they are on was formed, and/or towards what it might be going; before anything else. E.g. WWII assumes you're on earth, right? Even paleolitic etc...
