Maledict and Sufferus follow Han and Yoros down the staircase.

I have little experience with wizards honestly, but I didn't tell my players that corruption could be avoided I like corruption. It's cool.

We play a story-oriented game though, so spellcasting is not that frequent. Most game sessions we cast only a few spells.

A new player that joined my ongoing level 1 game started with level 0 PCs and I had him keep them for 2-3 game sessions. (I'm dont use XPs and I'm pretty loose on levelling up rules).

Are the PCs located on planet earth in a geographical/historical reality? If so, the other suggestions sound good; if not, I'd consider how the world they are on was formed, and/or towards what it might be going; before anything else. E.g. WWII assumes you're on earth, right? Even paleolitic etc...
