Arvis, poised to deliver a coup de grace to the xenopopsicle, turns back at the sound of Duke's voice to see her leave the room. He hesitates, shooting Nurzual a confused look and quizical grunt, then raises the weapon again to slay the slumbering demon.

Sailors on the Starless Sea is wonderful, and perfectly suitable for level 0-1 or mixed groups.
Dragora's Dungeon is awesome too, but can be deadly for inexperienced players.

Are we still falling toward the planet?

What if you had a couple DM npcs to round out a party? The other players can order them around to some extent, but you roll for 'em?
If this is an RP game, just have 'em be henchmen, mercs, spouses, or kin to the PCs so they have something invested in them instead of DMeatshields...

Let's say a piece of treasure had a curse on it. How could a party discover this without triggering the affect? Easiest to spitball ideas if the nature of the curse is known... but maybe you're avoiding that on the chance that one of your players might see it here... If they read even this far I wa...

I like local legends. Whether local folk, ancient writings, or the dying utterance of the horde's guardian, often the party could hear about the curse the same way they heard about the treasure.
