Re: Who's playing?
Read the novels earlier this year and liked them enough the buy the gaming supplement, but it hasn't arrived yet. Also just backed the Dying Earth KS so I'm looking at a lot of futuristic goodness in my future so to speak.

Looking to Join Game
Hey Everyone-- I've been a judge for a few sessions of DCC for people brand new to RPGs, but I'd love the chance to be a player myself. Interested in face to face games if possible (I live in south Mississippi), but would be open to something online, preferably on Zoom. I hate Discord and have never...

Re: Weasel Ball
Wheels are turning already....have an idea for something involving Radu and Mulferret building on the idea of all the animals having patrons and something involving druids, faeries, gnomes, and fur traders.... That's how it usually works with me. Something triggers a concept then I spend awhile comi...

Weasel Ball
Just got Angels, Daemons and Beings Between for Christmas among several other DCC items and I came across the Weaselball spell associated with Mulferrett, Queen of Weasels. Now I have to figure out a way to get that in my game....

Sweet! Thanks; I hadn't seen these yet and I won't get a couple of the other holiday adventures for two more days....

Holiday Adventure Module Idea
I really like the holiday modules I've seen so far for DCC and it occurred to me this morning that "The Nutcracker" could make a fun holiday adventure. The original story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King is a bit darker and more involved than the ballet and features a seven-headed mouse ...

Re: How DCC protects against railroading
Cool; yeah I'm also reading or re-reading some classic fantasy for inspiration. I read Clark Ashton Smith and Jack Vance last year. I'm re-reading all the Conan stories, including the pastiches, in the order of Conan's life, as well as Manly Wade Wellman & possibly the Elric stuff, which I read ...

Re: Character Sheets for Alternate Classes
Yeah, I snagged those. Just need ones for some of the other "unofficial" classes, though I do have generic ones I can use. And I love the grimoire generator on Purple Sorcerer.

Re: How DCC protects against railroading
Actually, the unpredictability is what attracted our group to DCC from OSE. We love a streamlined B/X style game, but it can get a bit too predictable, especially with the spells. The deed dice and flavor tweaks to the demi-human classes are also big selling points. We're running our first funnel so...

Finished writing it up last night. So hopefully the characters will survive to experience it. We run our first funnel in a couple weeks...

Adventure Hook: Incident at Dor Lomund
So I picked up DCC a few weeks ago and have been reading published modules furiously in preparation for our first campaign. As I noted elsewhere on this forum, we'll be doing "Carnival of the Damned" for our funnel. And as I've already drawn lots of inspiration from the published material,...

Character Sheets for Alternate Classes
Hey Everyone-- New to the game and loving it so far as I prepare to run my first funnel. I was wondering if there are character sheets out there for some of the alternate fan made classes from Crawl, etc.? I've found generic ones on the web, but I like the idea of the class specific ones like they h...

Re: Character Count For Adventures
What we do is have a larger pool of potential characters as an adventuring company or whatever, but then the DM (me) finds a way to determine how many might be needed for a given adventure and the players choose who will go, roleplaying that. There are often a hireling or two as well. And in true ol...

Re: DCC #66.5 - Doom of the Savage Kings - Session Reports + Review
Thanks for the review. Just picked up the game and ordered a bunch of modules. As they come in I'm looking for places to set them in my homebrew campaign world. As it turns out, one of the main political divisions is a set of very loosely organized jarldoms, so it looks like this will drop right in ...

Re: New Convert
Funny thing about Lankhmar, I just don't like Fritz Leiber's writing. I've read a couple of the short story collections and just could not get into them. I love REH, & HPL, and enjoy some of the Jack Vance stuff and many others of the genres covered by DCC, but Leiber, no. I still think it's coo...

New Convert
After shying away from DCC for years I finally decided to jump in and so glad I took the plunge! We've been playing assorted OSR games the past couple years, including lots of Old School Essentials, and a mashup of Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea, Swords & Wizardry & Labyr...
