Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Welcome! There are also some Discord servers that have good discussions about DCC, one called DungeonCrawlers is quite active. There's also the DCC RPG Rocks! Facebook group.

And yes, the rulebook is an absolute Tome

Re: Appendix N: For a New Generation - What is your list?

Was curious if anyone had referenced Terry Pratchett as Appendix N or Appendix N adjacent, and I'm glad this thread did. The Discworld books were my childhood, and definitely a big inspiration when I'm running my games. They definitely have a lighter more comedic feel than most but the fantasy world...

Re: Purple Planet Box Set

There is talk of a hardback printing coming to Indiegogo I think. See the 44:40 mark of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlujxpHVQZk

I agree it's not as good as a boxed set, but at least its better than a PDF!

Gongfarmer's Almanac 2015, Hidden Volume 6: Virtual Funnel report

I thought it would be fun to post this just to share my experience using the GFA 2015's Virtual Funnel idea, since I had some fun with it and wanted to share with those who may not have heard of it or who may have forgotten about it in the years since passed. :D First, a little background on it: htt...

Re: 20 point spell burn

As someone who is a DCC newbie, I would definitely defer to the experienced judges and players here on how this stuff actually plays out in game, however my initial interpretation of the rules as reading them would be: 1. 20 is not a hard ceiling for spellburn. It's possible to spend more. "A w...

Re: 20 point spell burn

I'd lean towards interpretation A but I do think the rules are ambiguous so I'd say a conversation at the table with anyone who wanted to play a wizard would be necessary.

Re: The Portal Under The Stars - Need some advice

Good to know, thanks for your advice! I hope to run it again soon for some other friends and I'll definitely try a less rigid approach to that room, and as you said just allow them enough time to do a few actions before the fire erupts again.

Re: The Portal Under The Stars - Need some advice

I had some questions for this module after running it for the first time last night and coming away with a few concerns. First of all, I think this little dungeon is great, I like how compact yet full of dangers and mysterious nooks and crannies it is, as well as all the opportunities for creative s...

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Hello Crawlers, I'm a TTRPG fan from Ireland, and have just recently discovered the joys of DCC RPG. The artwork, the simplified mechanics, the wacky dice and mind bending magic system, all of it jumped out at me and after watching various videos and listening to podcasts I decided I had to get the ...
