Re: The Case AGAINST Elf Spellburn
Yeah. Hey, maybe that's what happens to Elves who get corruption and use Spellburn? They have children who end up on the 0-Level Occupation table? I thought maybe that's where goblins come from... twisted, mutated elves. Heh, I was making a joke about inbred hillbilly elves, but sure, that's an ide...

Re: Just the basics
I am planning on using Sailors for our funnel. Do you feel it is necessary for PCs to level to level 1 in order to complete the module? How did you do it in play tests/previous runs? I have never kept track of experience for 0-Level characters. If they survive the adventure, they make level 1. And ...

Re: Out of Luck
One of my players rolled up a character with 16 luck and so named the character "Lucky." Well, he made it through the first adventure and became a wizard. That should have been the first sign the character was doomed. On his second adventure he didn't fare that well. I like how some of th...

Speaking of art... have you checked your messages here lately...? Ah, sorry about that! No matter what forum board I'm on, I almost never notice the little message bar unless I'm settled and really perusing the forum board (something I haven't really done this month due to graduation and Chr...

Please. Don't. Write. Fast. I want a rpg book with lots of playtest and many many random tables like in the DCC RPG core book. Playtest is necessary and random tables are fun and give flavour and cool informations without much text ! So please, take your time. I can wait till I get a quic...

Again: You. Must. Write. Faster. I cannot wait to virtually get my synthetic hands on this digital product! I would absolutely LOVE to get a copy of the demo, to help with editing (and to see the level of awesome you've hit with this). Well, I'm working on all the mechanics necessary for the demo f...

Re: The Case AGAINST Elf Spellburn
Yeah, but remember that you should be generating 3 or 4 Level 0 characters. If I got an Elf, Dwarf or Halfling like the ones you mention, they'd be the first ones whose 'curiosity' would lead them into the most dangerous situations first. I mean, an INT 7 elf? When you're intellectually Gumped by th...

Re: Frozen in Time = Fantastic sci-fi fun!
I ran it with 3 Level 1 PCs and a half dozen Level 0 meatbags. It played out in about 3.5 hours. Those who didn't end up being killed by the robot, blown up by the malfunctioning blaster or being teleported into the past, all died in the end as the building collapsed in on them. Good times... :twist...

Re: VOID HUNTERS: Seventies Sci-Fi Gaming...
A brilliant idea from Ragboy arrived in my email yesterday, and I thought I'd share it: As I was thinking about this adventure and the Void Hunters mileau in general, I came upon something that might be of interest. The patron system is one of those core "crunchy bits" of DCC that makes it...

17 & 18 are the same. How about Average joe with a freak talent for some skill? (You can choose a better wording) or Idiot Savant? Yeah, I wanted it to be represented twice. And with that, I've got a D30 chart. Thanks for all your help folks! Now, at this point, I'm going to be slowly building ...

Re: Need rules for mass combat...using DCC characters
There are quite a few, from Battlesystem , which is specifically for AD&D and might translate well, to Fields of Battle , which is for Castles & Crusades and is D20 based, which might be closer to DCC, to the Adventurer Conquerer King system's Domains of War, which is the most recent variati...

Re: VOID HUNTERS: Seventies Sci-Fi Gaming...
AJ, the Average Joe is genius. Great way to get the party suspicious of the one guy who rolls on the Weird table, even as he protests his innocence. Or possibly tries to mislead them by telling them he rolled Average Joe. So good, I added it twice. Raven, Ex-Broker isn't really weird, but ...

Re: FOR GLORY! Sword & Sorcery Boardgame...
Well, following the flash in the pan that was the HeroQuest kickstarter and looking to Myth, for whom got about a million bucks you can see a couple things: 1. People want a HeroQuest/AHQ/Warhammer Quest update and MB/GW or others trying to capitalize on it through loopholes aren't going to be able...

Re: FOR GLORY! Sword & Sorcery Boardgame...
It has more to do than Talisman, more choices to make, more flavorful magic, etc. Think of it as an entire RPG campaign that can be played in a single evening. By the way, I'm moving the Kickstarter to February due to the results of my Crowd-Funding research. There are some birds I need to put in a ...

Re: VOID HUNTERS: Seventies Sci-Fi Gaming...
A real quick question: Do you think there are too many Synthetic and Psion spots on the Occupation Chart? Should I maybe limit them more and then have the exact type rolled up on a separate table, like the Technician Jobs? I was thinking maybe placing them in spots 1-6, instead of 1 through 9, reduc...

Re: VOID HUNTERS: Seventies Sci-Fi Gaming...
Just to clarify, the Weird table is for Weird Occupations. Basically, bizarre secret occupations that the character has underlying their main occupation. It is rolled randomly be the GM so that the player may, or may not know the result, which may be revealed later. Still, I've upgraded the list to ...

I really want to run this for my December game. Thing is I've been collecting all the DCC goodness in digital form as I really don't have the room to spare for physical products after 30+ years of game collecting and I run everything from a tablet and a smartphone now. So how quickly can we get a PD...

Re: Apologies in advance (RE: SPAM)
Dude, that is happening to Jabberwocky-Media.com as well. It is such a PITA dealing with those bloody things. If people want Burberry, or whatever the hell else is being sold (I can't read Chinese which half of the damned things are in) they won't be looking for it on my site. Truth is, I expect tha...
