Re: Spell Stipulations and a "sure thing"
...my current take on healing Spellburn is that the 'burn itself is in essence "held" by the wild forces of the phlogiston and can't be healed back without dangerous repercussions. They will slowly feed it back to the source (as per the healing Spellburn rules) but to wrest that 'energy' ...

Spell Stipulations and a "sure thing"
Just finished out the Gang Lords of Lankhmar with a group of first time DCCers, we all had a blast, and I hope to post more of my thoughts on the adventure as time goes on. However, one issue that was giving gamers coming in from different rule systems fits, was to the randomness of the spell effect...

Re: The Great God
Any and all of those interpretations are possible. Fritz only knew what he put down on the page, so aside from the few references to the GG and the actions of its priesthood, it's all blank canvas to be worked with. And remember: It might have only been the "Great" God in the minds of its...

The Great God
Any idea who or what this God is? He can be encountered as one of the random Deities that can be found on the Street of the Gods mentioned in the Lankhmar City guide on page 22, but has no write up in the Patron/God section. Found mention of him in Lieber's Forest Claws from the Night and in the DCC...

The Yig is strong with this one. Thanks for the link. I have a wall at my house with about 50 modules tacked up that looks like the clue wall from The Usual Suspects...

Re: Shudder Mountains Map
Wasn't there a digital map included with the pdfs? I believe you should have gotten a digital copy of The Chain Coffin and its companion books with your pledged for the box set. As for additional material aimed at the Shudder Mountains, other than reading some of the Silver John stories, I think you...

Re: Chained Coffin Questions
Trudging through the mountains in plate armor would be a pain, however... though the Chained Coffin is inspired by the stories of John the Balladeer and the Appalachian Mountains, while prepping for my Shudder Mountain campaign, I also felt the need to look for some medieval analogies and came acros...

Very nice! Couldn't have said it better...on June 18 at 11:25pm....apparently. Perhaps I'm too wordy. Like your style T.Troy812 wrote:If ya wanna make a rule for 2h weapons.... Why not just +1d for the critical chart when using s 2 handed weapon...
Quick easy... and to the point.

Re: More "crunchy" weapon rules?
Last thought, playing around with damage groupings, but based on a characters strength? STR ................Weapons Usable 3-5...................1d4 (daggers, cane, spiked gauntlet) 6-9...................1d6 (short sword, hand ax, light mace, 1h-spear, 2h-staff.) 10-15...............1d8 (long sword,...

Re: More "crunchy" weapon rules?
Just a quick thought (nice way of saying not thought through). A warrior with a two handed weapon could have his threat range increased by one.
If that's too much, then perhaps moving the critical die up the chain by one when rolling for effect would literally make a hit more crunchy.
