Re: Homebrew Patron w/unique spells & taints
and you'd like a lawful patron for that elf? i'm quite busy lately, i thought i could write something around friday Aw, no, man, you don't need to tailor anything for me! Just follow your imagination and I'm sure more cool stuff will follow! I was just rambling about my campaign which just started....

Re: Luck Kind of Sucks
I'm inclined to agree with Abk108. I just am not sure that the rules state that clearly enough yet. There IS a part of me that could see why a player might wish to accept a crippled Luck roll for a while if they could get more Hps like this. If that was the players choice then I can respect it, the...

Re: Homebrew Patron w/unique spells & taints
Uh, these are freaking amazing! Please keep them coming--they are getting copy-pasted directly into my "Pantheon" file for future use in my campaign. You really have a knack for the Sword and Sorcery theme! I'm hoping the main book will at least have several of the patrons already listed ...

Re: Luck Kind of Sucks
Does this sound workable and fun? Should there be modifiers applied or perhaps alternate die types based on a character's luck score? Am I insane for even considering this? Do you like bacon? The above sums up my own feelings in suggesting this as an option... How about at the end of the adventure ...

Re: Luck Kind of Sucks
I've been thinking about how to make Luke usage more appealing to players. So far, not a single one of my players has spent any of their luck. It may be that I've only run a few games at 0-1st level and they do not wish to waste the stat, but there may be more to it. I'm thinking of allowing a luck...

Re: Corruption and Spell Fumble
One of my late suggestions to Joseph was the creation of multiple corruption tables. Type Minor Type Greater Type Major There was a long thought process involved on how it would work and I am not going to put it all in this post, but the basic thought was as follows: The first couple of corruptions...

Re: "Limiting" Corruption
It is also the mark of someone playing a game in which fun can be derived from attempting things that may turn out badly. After all, that is why we use dice in the first place - so there can be a chance of failure - failure which often turns out to be more entertaining than success. That being said...

Re: "Limiting" Corruption
You would be the greatest hitter who ever lived if you only failed 40% of the time at bat. Heck, you would be the greatest hitter if you succeeded 40% of the time at bat. Magic "40% of the time it works every time"[/quote] That 40% figure doesn't take into account spellburning, a thematic...

Re: Luck Kind of Sucks
You know what might be neat? Maybe you spend Luck to guarantee a hit, but the amount of luck that it costs you is rolled each time? Maybe 1d6? I love this. I'd even let this be used against being hit, or basically to modify almost any die roll. Yes, you can avoid being hit by the spear trap. Yes, y...
