Re: Advancement

The experience system makes it pretty easy for the Judge to know when their players will level, so you can better gauge when to allow them the Level Up. This gives you the option of building in a break. I generally wait for downtime, if only to keep the game moving and not having to interrupt the se...

Re: Rochester, NY

I should be closing on my house by June so we should definitely put something together when I'm moved in.

(And yes, Count Zero as in the Gibson novel ;) )

Rochester, NY

I am moving to Rochester, NY for work and I'm wondering if there are any groups in the area. I'm willing to run a game as well.

Online games

I'm curious if anyone is running an online game and looking for a player, or if there are any players looking for a game. I'm down for either.

Re: Pitch me on your con

Tell me more...how did they do it for Savage Worlds? It was interesting; the small community of players at the time just ran a lot of games at cons and made their presence known. We did on the grid and off the grid games. Pinnacle actually put a whiteboard at their booth and people could write down...

Re: What do you use for a campaign?

I drew up a small area with Campaign Cartographer and expand it as the characters move about. I like not being tied down to a larger world.

Re: You can't fake sincerity.

It's the truth. This game is a huge breath of fresh air. It takes me back a lot of years and at the same time brings something new and different to the table. Half my group are guys that put 3.x behind them. Now I get to say to them, "this is what the Game felt like when I started playing."

Re: Pitch me on your con

Maybe you guys can put together some demo packets for people to run at local cons. That could start a grassroots movement in the community. I saw it firsthand with Savage Worlds in its infancy. I'd gladly run games at local cons.

The one at the convention. I'm running it for my bi-weekly group tomorrow, though. You looking for a group?

Re: Gaming Convention in Buffalo!

I think I'll run some DCC as a demo on Saturday. I'm debating 1st level characters or a 0-level funnel style game. My other system of choice is Savage Worlds but it seems my boys have that on lock.

DCC in Buffalo

I'm currently looking for a group of regular players for DCC in Buffalo, NY. I'm 40 years old, married with kids, and have been gaming for almost longer than I can remember. I prefer to run, but I'm good with playing in an established game.

I may run some DCC there if I can find time that weekend. Outside of that, anyone in the Buffalo area looking for a group? :)

Re: Sailors of the Starless TPK...

Shockingly my players mopped the floor with beastmen. I'm still shocked at the astounding player luck. Only 3 of 12 died. Yup, I had a similar experience. We just finished Sailors the other night and only lost 3 of 12. The finale was a bit more, um, unconventional than most people experienced but s...

Re: To Mini Or Not To Mini

Just out of curiosity, has anyone found that DCCRpg works better or worse using miniatures? So it would appear the answer is, "Yes." //H Heh, indeed. I think I will go with a slightly abstracted take on minis, using them to show relative positions, etc. I want to give narrative ...

To Mini Or Not To Mini

Just out of curiosity, has anyone found that DCCRpg works better or worse using miniatures? I've done both equally the past 28 years, but I'm currently debating which approach to use with this game. There are good reasons on both sides. Discuss. :)

Beyond the Portal Under the Stars

I'm planning on taking the DCC RPG for a test run in a few weeks and I was curious what types of adventures people are running. I plan to use Portal Under the Stars as a starting point (I love the Mythos overtones!) and I was curious if anyone actually did something concerning that Dryad to the east...

Re: Aereth location?

I ran Thief lord's vault in 3.5 and it was a blast and i agree had the best trap ever! I am thinking of trying to make it 4E for my group running in Punjar. I'm running a 4E Punjar game as well and thought of doing something with the module. It seems to me that converting 3.5 to 4 is tricky at best...

Re: Punjar: The Tarnished jewel

Thank you, Belares & Treebore! Punjar wouldn't be much without heroes to venture through its dusty streets. "...through its muddy streets." Corrected for the sake of all that rain and drizzle that's always falling on Punjar... or is that just the corner of town Sellswords takes place ...
