I think Mr Goodman said once that adding a boiler to steam armors increases the Str by +2 and/or doubles the carrying capacity, your choice.

Magic of Highpoint Book?

I know the focus of DragonMech is the lessening impact of magic, but Highpoint still has more than enough magic. Elves alone retain intense magic, and some of the clans of the Irontooth as well use alot of power. And there's also the clerics, as the other focus of DragonMech is the war of the gods i...

and, again, comparing them to the other Living Construct template, they're actually much weaker in comparison. WotC's living constructs don't gain the construct bonus hp but do gain Con, which in the longer run gives them more hp and makes them sturdier than constructs without it. plus, they can las...

well, constant d10s is decent, i guess, though it hinders Barbarian tik'toks (i could see this. *G*). Having no Con is actually a bit of a problem, as you fail all Constitution checks that don't normally work on objects, and you'll never gain a bonus to Fort saves without it. The construct immunitie...

plant mechs and constructs are now possible with the organic construct template in Steam Warriors, using Organic Steel. A truly plant-like mech prolly would have a special quality that allows it to regrow (what, 20% to give the mech Fast Healing or some such?) and would have to be made of Wood, maki...

isn't LA +2 a bit excessive for Tik'Toks? they seem to have an aweful lot of penalties for such a seemingly better race. They have a negatively-balanced Ability Score Adjustment, not immune to critical hits or mind-effects, vulnerability to rust-based effects, cannot heal themselves wihtout certain ...

Mr Goodman, an official answer to the penalties that an undercrewed mech suffers? As noted in the book, it seems you can have half your crew and still suffer nothing at all (as they're suppose to stoke the engine AND man weapons at the same time), but less than that and you shut down.

What are the penalties when you only have half your crew requirements? The book suggests there's problems, but then it doesn't say anything else beyond that some guns are gonna go unmanned. My characters are in a Magwagon (Crew Requirement: 4 (guns: 2)) and beyond the pilot only one of the others ar...

Mech Bite is a weapon in Mech Manual. Usually it's only for savage mechs, like orcish mechs, but it gives the mech a bite attack. spring-powered jaws. fun stuff.

yeah, when grevious was running off with Palpatine in a ship, just before I do believe it was Windu that did a Force Strike and blew half of the cyborg's chest apart. Grevious went flying back, then started coughing and limped off as the ship flew away. That's also why his chest looks half-finished ...

You also remember that at the end of the Clone Wars cartoon Grievious was seriously wounded (by Windu, wasn't it?). Why you think he was limping and hunched over, coughing all the time? Remember Obi Wan's (or was it Anakin's) comment "I thought you were taller". Obi Wan got lucky in the fi...

Eh, all I have to say is, while it still doesn't match the awesomeness of the originals, you HAVE to realize that these AREN'T the originals. These are a different story, leading to the originals. And Episode III is... well... simply fantastic. It's not AS good as the originals, but at the same time...

dunno, classes are balanced when you use them correctly. I can make a rogue that'll slaughter any fighter or cleric, for instance. 3.5's alot better in balance than the original. And i'm with Reese. When you make items, you're not actually doing anything but spending bland months crafting some item,...

wizards are the most likely of item crafters, however. Remember that sorcerers really are more like half-dragon people, clerics are too busy healing, and druids too busy cleaning up the forests. With the exception of cloistered priests, clerics also are more martial and forward in their training, no...

actually, you find this opposite in some classes. Take the Artificer (from Eberron). It gains Craft Wand at 6th level, while a wizard may take the same feat with his 5th level bonus feat.

*snickers* you're in my game, mythfish. I got an eye on you for that powergamer comment. *snickers*

i don't find much wrong with them, either. it's generally good thoughts. might need some tinkering in the long run, but i doubt any of my players'll even consider it.
