Re: DCC #54: Extra Dwarves
xredjasonx - You might want to wait until getting "Wyvern Mountain" before figuring out exactly how you want to connect "Forges" to it. Some of what you've got planned will fit in perfectly with leading into the adventure. But there's a few other things that you might want to add...

Re: New DCCs Announced
I like DCC modules set in the Criestine Colonies, and near Voltigeur ... then again, I'm biased.
Adventure location bias aside, "Isle of the Sea Drake" is a terrific campaign starter for a 4E game.
If you run it for your players, Frank, please let us know how it goes!

If you ever run into Ken Hart at GenCon ... ask him about his experience with large black portals in the Tomb.JediOre wrote:Word to the wise, never have all the players leap through a large black portal headlong. . . .
That one's truly a classic.

It was really, really good. I learned quite a bit about the tournament ... and I've worked on the tournament! :) If you've ever been remotely curious about the inner workings of the tournament - from design to playtesting to the logistics of running it at GenCon - check it out. You won't be disappoi...

As mentioned before ... patience. :) I'm sure it will be available sometime later this year, probably after GenCon. Remember, "Sinister Secret of Whiterock" was last year's Free RPG Day module. It wasn't available immediately after Free RPG Day last year ... but a few months later, it was ...

Sorry. We'll amend that, then.

Re: DCC #35: Gazetteer of the Known Realms
One question though: I noticed that the world is missing something like a common calendar with names for months and days of the week. Was this done on purpose? I could easily write one myself of course but would like to use something official if I can. Regarding the calendar - I think it's been men...

Re: DCC #28 Into the Wilds help
I was thinking pretty much the same thing. Let the PCs notice that there's considerably more activity amongst Lady Aborn's guards. Then, when they investigate, they should find that some have been given something "very important" to protect. (They can find this by bribing or tricking the g...

Re: Scaly God question (spoilers)
I was going to borrow some of the thoughts from this thread for my blog ... but hey, I'll post here instead. :) Back in the days when my friend Eric and I were running 1E campaigns (because at that time, 1E was the only E), we ised to talk a lot about designing adventures. One of the things that got...

I hope, for the gaming industry's sake, that Goodman Games and the other publishers who contributed to Free RPG day do no bow to popular demand and offer the premiums elsewhere. Guys, I'm sure that they will be offered elsewhere. Just not for awhile. Remember last year? "Sinister Secret of Whi...

If you're using low-level characters, I'd recommend "Legend of the Ripper".

It's set in a city, and has a good mix of mystery and dungeon crawling. And it's a solid adventure.

Btw, where's Punjar located on Aerth? It's on the northernmost tip of the Southern Province, just across the waters from the Criestine Empire. Look at the center of the middle map from "Gazetteer of the Known Realms" and you should see Punjar. It's essentially in the very heart of the wor...

Hi all It's been a while since there was anew post on this thread. I hope you all check in now and again. My favorite character was Ceralt, a lawful evil fighter. He could be a ruthless bastard, but he somehow managed to work quite well in a group filled with good-aligned characters. Was the passkey website also terribly slow, or was it just me? It wasn't just you. I had flashbacks of BBS boards, Commodore 64 computers, and the good old 300 baud modem while waiting for it to come up. The passkey site wasn't just slow, it was glacial. I learned my lesson from last year, though. ...

Puzzle writing is always a challenge. I tend to include them in the DCCs I've written, because I consider them part of the old-school dungeon crawl experience. However ... conveying everything that's in your head to a DM - and what a DM needs to explain to his/her players - is often difficult. I've ...
