So, the wording about how all of these seems left to interpretation.
Do you give to hit and damage for strength on both the weapon attack and the shield bash?
It appears that you use the same deed die for both attacks. But how about the mighty deed of arms? Could a dwarf "double dip" and get 2 deeds in a round, or does he need to pick whether he does a weapon or shield bash deed?
Just looking for opinions (or perhaps official rulings if there are any)
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Dwarven Shield Bash + Strength + Deed questions
I give to hit and damage bonuses from strength to apply to both weapon attack and shield bash.
I do not really allow mighty deeds for both weapon attack and shield. With that said, I am pretty liberal with saying yes player's ideas when they use them with mighty deeds. So if their description happens to include something cool with both their shield and weapon involved, I am apt to say go for it with the mighty deed roll. Hope that makes sense...

Re: Dwarven Shield Bash + Strength + Deed questions
The way I handle Deeds is that only the one happens each round no matter how many attacks you can make.
Example: A dwarf of level 6 with a 13 Strength would have 1d20+1d16 action dice, 1d14 for his shield bash, 1d8 deed die, and a +1 strength modifier.
He then makes all three attacks available and the player rolls, starting with the d20+d8. He gets a 15 and a 5, then totals this attack's to-hit roll (21) and sets aside the deed die without changing the result (5). Damage is then rolled if it hit.
Next he rolls the d16, gets a 10, and adds his modifiers (5 from the deed die, 1 from strength) for a total of 16, and rolls damage if he hits.
Finally the shield bash d14 roll, gets an 8, adds strength and deed die result (5 still) for a total attack of 14, and again damage is rolled if that is a hit.
In all cases the damage rolls would be the die type based on the weapon and add a total of +6 (1 from strength, and the 5 rolled on the deed die this round).

I don't know if that's how it works for sure either, but I really, really thought that was a good explanation, and I'll be sure to utilize it when this question is asked at my table.TheNobleDrake wrote:The way I handle Deeds is that only the one happens each round no matter how many attacks you can make.

Re: Dwarven Shield Bash + Strength + Deed questions
I went the other way with my group and allowed a MDOA with both weapon and shield. The descriptions of battle were so fluid that pinning someone's foot in place with a spear and then bashing them in the face with a shield to stun them sounded like a natural thing to do. So as long as both attacks hit and the description sounded good I went with it.
