Sailors -- Ziggurat Diorama

Post by jonchappellnow2 »

I've never made one of these things before, but I was so inspired by Sailors of the Starless Sea that I had to give it a shot. It's not a perfect match for the one on the map, but I think it will do.

Don't spray paint it, you'll melt the styrofoam! Brush on some paint instead. Nice work.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I know that gaming with minis isn't for everyone, but they sure help me to visualize and enjoy the different scenarios.

I appreciate the warning. I tried spray painting a similar styrofoam diorama that I had made for the big throne room chamber at the end of Portal Beneath the Stars, but the spray paint completely ruined it. I've learned that there are water-based spray paints out there that will work, so I might give one those a shot.

I can't wait to bring this baby out for my players! I'm also looking into a dragonship model that is to scale for the journey across the starless sea. This one looks good, but I don't think that I have the time to build such a complex model:

And... I already picked up four of these tentacles for that big moment.

This is all sorts of awesome. Can't wait to see the post-mortem.

Just painted it today.

Any recommendations for adjusting the challenge level?

Stephan Poag and the rest of our group are going to begin the adventure this Wednesday night, but they now have seven 2nd level characters. I know the adventure is intended as a funnel (or for a party of 1st levelers,) but I'm thinking that they'll blow right through most of the monsters, traps, and encounters unless I buff up the challenge levels.

In general I was planning on increasing everything by +2 (damage, HD, DC levels, etc.)

Or would this be too much?

Any suggestions?

Give the shaman some spell powers. Make Molan a type3 demon. Make beastmen regenerate.

Thanks, Beer and John.

Regenerating Beastmen -- now that would be nasty! :)
