DCC RPG Alternate Cover #2

Post by goodmangames »

I don't normally post sketches but Doug just turned this in and all I can say is, "Wow!" This is the sketch for the second alternate cover. The "guts" of this cover will be the same as the normal 2nd printing available next month, with this alternative-cover version available around October/November. I can't wait to see how the colors turn out.

And yes, that is Hugh's head in the bowl and Farrah trapped in the glass. In DCC RPG, even the mightiest heroes fall eventually...

This looks awesome, but the term "alternate cover #2" is confusing. Here's the way I see it:
  • Gold Foil Cover (1st print)
  • Regular blue cover (1st print)
  • Regular blue cover (2nd print)
  • Alternate cover #1 / October (2nd print)
  • Alternate cover #2 / December (2nd print)
So the October version should be alternate #1, right?

Well, you're the boss. Call 'em as you see 'em!

Marv: Yes it's actually Alt cover #1 .
and

I think this is the first public introduction of Farrah Heftblade or at least her actual name. You have seen her quite a bit already. She's Hue's left hand women and also his daughter. It is pretty hard to tell that it is her in this image, but Joe just outed her.

Hmmmm. . . .I'm not sure how I can justify owning three core rulebooks.

Once you've worn out the first two through regular play, surely you'll need a third? :)

Yes, this can start getting confusing. Okay, how about we just call this one "the wizard cover"?

The good thing about the different covers is that my wife won't need to know I bought the same book again.

I probably should not say this, but...

I will buy DCC with every single cover you put on it - I can't help myself!

I planned on buying enough copies that all of my players that need to reference one from time to time at the table could have one nearby - now I have just decided to spread those purchases out as new covers come along.

...and of course, I'll be lining up for even more copies upon a 3rd printing with further errata and any alternate covers it might have.

I'm just basing this off of my post in the Adventures section where I listed off all of the GG products. I didn't just list adventures but also rulebooks.

Seems easy enough, unless you intend to start a "cover of the month" club. That could get expensive.

I know what you mean. I already have both the standard and limited versions but the art is just so damn awesome I'm going to have to get one! Better start saving already...

I already have three.

I wound up with two standard and one special edition. Now I have to ponder owning four or five.

You crazy.

If you have a large group though, it's great, especially if one of them wants to take it home and familiarize themselves with the system a little more.

Will there be a pre-order for the new cover? I like it.
