Barrowmaze using DCC RPG

Post by Raven_Crowking »

http://www.unseenservant.us/forum/viewt ... f=21&t=523

I am looking to start a pbp game, exploring the Barrowmaze using the Dungeon Crawl Classics rules by Goodman Games. I have the full rules release pdf, but all players need to get going are the Beta Quickstart rules, located here: http://www.goodman-games.com/downloads/ ... 060811.pdf

Full Beta rules can be found here: http://www.goodman-games.com/DCCRPGbeta.html

Each player begins play with 4 0-level PCs. A random party of four can be generated here: http://jmarrdesign.com/dcc/

You can email me the resultant pdf at dbishop at danieljbishop dot ca, and be entered into the PC Roster, or you can use the Unseen Servant die roller to post your results here.

Each character must be made using the random process as listed, including 3d6 in order and random hit points. Dead characters are replaced at 1 level below the lowest other surviving character, to a minimum of 0. If you are required to make 0-lvl characters as a result, you make 4. Hopefully one will survive to 1st level. This is a potentially brutal game!

Between forays, new players may join. They start with 4 0-lvl characters, just as the original players did.

Best of luck, and look forward to the mayhem!

I will need people's Unseen Servant user names to add them to the forum so that they can post.

I'd really like to get you in there, Vanguard, but I'll need an Unseen Servant user name by noon today (my time) to do so.

If not, better luck on round three.

If anyone wants to hop into this game, it is now recruiting another 0-level funnel (possibly with some 1st level support).

I'd like to join, what do I need to do? I mean, do I give you 4 0-levels or just one character?

Supply 4 0-lvl characters (I recommend using the Purple Sorcerer site, and emailing the pdf to me at dbishop at danieljbishop dot ca), and make sure you have a user name at Unseen Servant (unseenservant.us) so I can let you post to the forum. Then have fun.

Daniel/RC

P.S.: I'll take up to three more, if there are three more who want in.

If you still have an opening, my merry band of peasants is being sent to you now. I will flesh them out (name/alignment/etc.) today.

Unseen Servant name = Hoggarth

Thanks!

I adore Barrowmaze (if it's even possible to adore such a horrible place).

How are you converting it to DCC? Or are you just running it as-is? I'm asking because I've thought about doing the same thing for our upcoming campaign.

I am converting as-needed. Much of the conversion is presentation rather than substance. I would say that something like 90% is presentation.

I too will be using Barrowmaze as a major adventure site in my "sandbox" I been building based on your series of excellent posts: S is for Sandbox

Do you have a formula for converting monster blocks on the fly? Any other tips for running Borrowmaze in DCC RPG?

P.S. Thanks for pointing me towards Ray Winninger's Dungeoncraft articles too!
