If those are the results Sword Magic can produce I am totally in. This could be easily expanded to include bows, halbreds, axes and the like. In fact I would love to see some homemade waraxe/warhammer tables.

Those are, in order, the first random swords I rolled up. Each one is cool, which bodes well for the system. But to be honest, I see this all as being mostly inspiration. There are no rules for magic armour or other types of magic weapons in the book, but you should be inspired to design your own after reading the tables given for swords. Isn't that basically how the Dungeon Alphabet worked? Reading the tables inspired further creation.

Oh I get it. The thing with me - DCC is not really aimed at guys like me. This will be my first time DM'ing a old school system. I have been a player of old school fantasy/DnD but never a DM. That is why I would like to see some sample tables before I come up with my own.

Sword Magic can be applied to any weapon with a bit of tweaking. My group came upon a Spear +1 in an OSR adventure. I usually ignore it, but I felt it was time to give someone a magic weapon, and it fit the character who found "a rusty, but elaborately designed spear blade with a fairly new but crudely made haft". Upon further research (an a few rolls on the Sword Magic tables) it's discovered that is the spear of some forgotten king who wanted to build the greatest cities and despised thieves. The blade was made from the weapon of a notorious guild boss, and it has the power to find stolen treasure (Locate Object.)

Since conversion from other old-school games in this case is easy, maybe you should check out some of the tables from retroclones like Swords & Wizardry, OSRIC or Labyrinth Lord. But don't forget, that magic items are very rare in DCC RPG, and all of them is unique. You can use the sword magic table to make up other magic weapons, or even armour.

Sword Magic can be cast on any weapon, but with a -1 caster check penalty, -2 if the cater is not proficient in the weapon. That's right from the spell. Other wise, yeah, right in the book players are encouraged to mine other games for inspiration on magic items. Remember, though, every item has a story, even if thePCs don't know it right away.
