The End?
With the advent of 4E, does this mean the end of DCC classic style? No more "EO" art, or classic style art?

Re: The End?
Mike,
Thanks for the post. 4E is hardly the end of Erol's artwork. In fact we just published his first "4E" art, the Master Dungeon lines has (thus far) exclusively used Clyde Caldwell's art, and Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer art will grace the cover of the adventure of the same name.
Long may old school reign!

And what makes you think we're not keeping Erol, Jim Roslof, Jim Holloway, and the other guys busy on something else?

Also, the same took place concurrently at Genghis in Denver. Where were you, Mike?

there is one thing I'd really like to see though. A video game and/or animated movie done in the rendering of EO's art. pass that along!

Could be. No point in discussing things that are still subject to change. But as the details get finalized there will be much to talk about.

Well, in keeping with the subject matter of this thread, I can say this much: Erol Otus, Jim Holloway, Jim Roslof, and Jeff Easley have all been working on some Goodman Games projects lately.

Re: The End?
Otus certainly has become "the" artist for a certain segment of the D&D population. I love his work, and it has a very different feel than (for example) Elmore's art.
Kind of neat how an artist can be known for creating a style that fits a particular game. (Like Brom and Dark Sun.)

Re: The End?
So, if "anyone" is "listening", can we have an EO update. Pretty please? What about a Roslof tribute as well. Possibly a book or series of books featuring, well, everything he ever did? Sigh.

Re: The End?
Erol has a couple pieces in DCC RPG.
Jim Roslof has about a half-dozen pieces in DCC RPG. These include the last 4 illustrations that he created before his death.
I do like the idea of an Erol Otus art book, or perhaps a broader art book dedicated to "the art of the dungeon crawl." Erol has expressed an interest in it, "eventually," but wants to have more material to work with. A lot of the originals for his TSR work were lost or destroyed over the years.

Re: The End?
Oh man. It drives me insane when I hear about publishing companies that used to do that. There were some horror stories about the demise of some classic Kirby and Joe Sinnott art. One such story tells of a page that was used to patch a hole in a roof in one their warehouses back in the day. Another was apparently used as a coaster for multiple cups of coffee. Sigh....
Looking forward to seeing stuff!
