Mapping & Cartography

Post by crabclaw »

Working on perfecting large scale high resolution maps. Presently I'm studying old RPG maps to mesh traditional styles with my own. Hope to publish some day or help with other RPG community mapping projects. Here are my samples:

What do you use to produce something like this? Great maps. I don't have anything useful to add. Just really like the detail on these. *Envious*

I agree. They look very nice.

Photoshop is the great equalizer. It makes everything look so pretty.

Truely a great success!
If I didnt know better id guess that you'd peeled off a slice of some distant land and placed it back down onto paper :)

Thanks -- funny thhough because I'm trashing the Ravenna map -- it's complete unrepairable (shading on the mountains is off) but it Ravennia was a testing project I must keep that in mind and not the 500 hours I spent on it -- Presnetly I'm workin on a Hellscape terrain of cliffs, volcanos, pits, depressions, lava rock valleys -- it should be neat -- will post a link when completed :)

Yeah, that's a neat map. You don't see worlds like that mapped very often.

Nice! I love the detail. I also like the look of the coastline below Val Hor -- the five "fingers" of rivers are distinctive. It could make for an interesting region to explore.
