Hunter series Mechs: Elven Huge-Colossal Animated (full stat

Post by Raptor »

These mechs are designed basically as a lower-cost, more general purpose mechs for the elves compared to some of their wand heavy designs. They also do not require an arcane caster onboard. The first and most common is the basic Huge model, the Hunter. There are 2 variants, 1 armed with a ballista, and 1 with a javelin rack. This very stealthy mech is usually used for scouting ahead of village mechs, and actual hunting. They can still be a significant danger to mechs and large dragons in numbers, and usually engage in ambush and hit & run tactics. They almost always have a 2 man crew onboard, although they can operate with 1, and usually 1 of the crew is a ranger, for their tracking and survival skills. And here are the Stats.

The Ranger

Post by Raptor »

The Ranger is very similar to the hunter, but its greater size and weaponry makes it much more capable in a stand up fight, although they still prefer to start a battle with a shot from ambush. They are most commonly used as escorts for a village mech, as their size makes them less suited for the scouting role. As with the hunter there are ballista & javelin rack variants. Here are the Stats.

Stalker

Post by Raptor »

The Stalker is the largest of the Hunter series Mechs. It is most commonly used for dealing with specific threats, such as tracking down marauding lunar dragons or orc warbands. Although its size makes it more difficult, with sufficient work the stalker can be concealed, and has a formidable first strike ability. Some elven forces prefer it to the Rodwalker for fire support, as it is significantly more durable, and requires much less resources. This is also a good mech for an adventuring group, with sufficient onboard space for an entire typical party. Here are the stats.

What's next

Post by Raptor »

Several possiblities for next posted mechs: Cobra & King Cobra (Larger versions of the Viper), The Death Knight & Death Walker (Mixtures of steam & Necromancy), Or the Boulder (An elven Mech designed for indirect fire). So what would people like to see first?

I'd like to see the Death Knight and Death Walker myself. There aren't enough undead mechs, if you ask me.
I am Omnirahk, half-Rahkshi ("Omni") of the WotC forums. I consider "Psionics in DragonMech" (see my website) my greatest contribution to anything d20 so far. At least, it's my most successful topic.
