Dinotopia

Anyone watching this on TV? Is it good? I keep missing it, but I'm not too psyched to pursue it, since I was a little disappointed by the miniseries. It was good, but not as good as the books.

It's okay. It's not great, mind you, but it's okay. It's got dinosaurs in it. That about guarantees my viewership.

New York Post reports Dinotopia Cancelled. Low ratings sited

Post by RSKennan »

Sad news for anyone hoping to see it:
the 12/17/02 New York Post reports that as of December 26th Dinotopia is cancelled. Here's a blurb:

"Dinotopia attracted a dismal 4.2 million viewers in its outing last Thursday, making it the least-watched series on any of the four major networks."

I was hoping to see it. I usually have to wait for shows to reach syndication, because of my work hours, and now that's not likely to happen, unless it gets picked up by a cable station.

Ouch! Guess I better watch it this Thursday while I still can.

It was shown here in the UK over Christmas/New Year. It was ok, but even with dinosaurs it didn't push my buttons really.

Joseph,

you certainly know about the official website of the books that inspired the mini-series, but just in case:

http://www.dinotopia.com/

I think the wonderful books are much more rewarding than the TV-show. :)
