Love the cover art!

I have never ever played or run a mutant, gamma world style game.

I just bought The Mutant Epoch game to have a play of and see what it is about and what these styles of games have on offer. I had heard good things... It looks excellent and potentially a heap of fun. A Mutant Crawl Classics game could be terrific, with all those funky dice, some module support and perhaps a more vintage future feel rather than the dirtier, nastier vibe I get from TME (not complaing, just different).

Sounds good :)
Playing since about 1980

I want to play this so friggin bad!

Come on it's friggin 2015 already!

What can we do to speed this up? I know some people who know some people who, with the right incentive, will give Mister Goodman a good talking to. One of them is a winged chimpanzee who loves cigars and machine guns. you just give the word and I'll flip him a couple of bananas and let him out of his cage.

I was hoping to play Mutant Crawl Classics at GaryCon this year. I played it there with Jim last year, but he isn't running it this year. Super bummed...but I did get into his DCC RPG tournament.

Sad news about MCC not being run at GaryCon. I watched some sessions of it last year and it seemed like a real blast, plus there has been some positive chatter on these boards about it. I'd like to see more exposure for the system.

Due to popular demand, I will be running a play test of new MCC RPG adventure, "Assault on the Sky Tower" off the grid, likely on Thursday night. Stay tuned and/or come find me at the con (which is not hard - I'll be outside smoking).

~excerpt:

The Garden of WEE-DN
Outside the den of the tube thing, you see a nearly unimaginable landscape. Accustomed to the wild riot of mile-high rainforest that is your home, you now look out upon a well-ordered garden of surpassing beauty. Lush green carpets of trimmed grass create broad walkways between rows of flowering plants and fruit trees with which you are unfamiliar. The garden extends for as far as you can see in every direction, while off in the distance to the north there lies a tower of the Ancients Ones, draped in tanglevine and verdant ivy. The large and complex bulk of the sky tower is over 100’ feet in the air, impossibly balanced on a slender stalk of metal, as if its artificial construction was intended as a gigantic replica of some of the petaled flowers at your feet.

Those are all the work of the very talented Barrie James, an accomplished Brit artist and illustrator. He did those for an early play test version of the rules that I typeset for ease of use and basically for myself and my players, as you do.

Would it be safe to say that the current status of Mutant Crawl Classics still in "in play testing"?

While this is technically "no news", I'd say that it sounds like good news. 8)

From what I can gather from my VAST unground network(AKA Sammy the Giant Sentient Mutant Ant Hive with a dartboard/wee gee board that gets totally #$%$faced on fermented Honey that I feed it) is that the plan is to keep hyping this mother up till we literally explode and money just rains down all over the Goodman Games office. THEN put out a kickstarter and be all "what? We had nothing to do with all those deaths/spontaneous explosions of cash! Quick! Look at our artist explain this picture of the sad event!"

At least that's what Sammy tells me.
