This is mostly a question for Doug Kovacs, but I thought I'd post it here so we can weigh in our theories. Our beloved Hugh the Barbarian:
bears a striking resemblance to Rip Taylor:
Was Hugh inspired by Rip?

You just spoiled the big reveal when Hugh starts throwing confetti around at all of his enemies (and allies).

Save for the difference in eye color, it looks almost uncanny.

I gotta tell you Pesky- I thought the same thing. I just never thought to bring it up.
I thought to myself- "No way. Cant be. You are being silly."

It didn't occur to me until one of my players brought it up. It's awesome to think of Hugh doing a Rip bit, or vice versa. Perhaps Hugh will do a mighty deed using confetti in an upcoming DCC moduleBlood Axe wrote:I gotta tell you Pesky- I thought the same thing. I just never thought to bring it up.

Re: Is Hugh the Barbarian inspired by Rip Taylor?
I think Hugh is Hugh. Personality wise I imagine him as a big shallow jock dick for the most part.
I haven't thought about rip Taylor much in my life.
Everyone likes to pick out their own comparisons though. There have been other comparisons. Think of him as you'd like.

In the game world, I see someone attempting to compare his likeness to him - and Hugh summarily ripping his a** out through his throat.
Why? Because he probably has a creepy uncle that looks identical to Rip, and you invoked a bad memory.
