Errata

Post by Ogrepuppy »

Hi,

The Sentinel, page 22, Sentinel Abilities, first paragraph, after the long hyphen.

"...those who's..." should be "those whose"

Archaic Alignments, page 18, fourth sentence and into fifth sentence, "...The Chosen Zuu. While plantients...." This is either a continuation of a single thought and needs a comma to join the forth and fifth sentences together, or the fifth sentence shouldn't start with "while" because....English grammar.

Mutations!

Pg. 42, Carapace, Manifestation (2): "... a chitinous exoskeletal;" should be "exoskeleton" or finish with a noun.

Pg. 42, Claws, Manifestation (3): "Claws" capitalized.

Pg. 43, Electrical Generation, Manifestation (4): "mutants" should be "mutant's", and "that" should probably be "and" to avoid ambiguity.

Pg. 44, Extra Senses, Manifestation (4): "mutant skin" --> "mutant's skin".

Pg. 45, Gas Generation, Manifestation (2): "mutants" --> "mutant's".

Pg. 47, Heightened Stamina, Manifestation (2): "the" --> "The".

Pg. 48, Holographic Skin, Manifestation (4): "loose" --> "lose". Check results, 4 uses of "spectrums" rather than "spectra".

Pg. 53, New Body Parts, result 2-11: "antennae" --> "antenna" and "gills" --> "gill"

Pg. 54, Radiation Generation, Manifestation (4): "Cloud" --> "cloud".

Pg. 62, Cryokinesis, result 32+: "effected" --> "affected".

Pg. 66, Empathy, result 28-29: "who's advise" --> "whose advice".

Pg. 69, Illusion Generation, result 32+: "object" --> "objects".

Pg. 69, Life Force Reflection, result 30-31: doubled semicolon "attack;;"

Pg. 70, Magnetic Control, Manifestation (3): "his or his" --> "his or her".

Pg. 71, Mind Control, General: "causing them to regard them" would be better as "causing them to regard the mutant".

Pg. 74, Molecular Disruption, Manifestation (2): "eye's" --> "eyes".

Pg. 76, Pyrokinesis, General: "until the ignite" --> "until they ignite". Result 32+: the final sentence is distorted.

Pg. 83, Attraction Odor, result 20+: "mutant" --> "mutant's"

Pg. 84, Delayed Reaction, result 12-15: "over thinking" --> "over-thinking"

Pg. 84, Delusional, result 12-15: "cause them" --> "cause him or her". Result 20+: "out to get them" --> "out to get him or her", "he" --> "he or she"

Pg. 85, Devolved, result 2-4: "resembles their" --> "resembles his or her"

Pg. 85, Diminished Body Part, result 12-15: "their breath" --> "his or her breath". Pg. 86, result 20+: "their next attack" --> "his or her..."

Pg. 87, Enmity, result 2-4: "meeting their" --> "meeting him or her" *next 4 results have the same error. Result 18-19: "avoiding them" -->"avoiding him or her"

Pg. 90, Multiple Personalities, each result uses "they" as pronoun instead of "he or she"

Pg. 91, Special Vulnerability, result 12-15: "their bones" --> "his or her bones"

Pg. 93, Thin Skin, result 20+: "they is" --> "he or she is" and "their" --> "his or her"

Pg. 93, Uncontrolled Empathy, "their" used throughout instead of "his or her".

Pg. 96, Anaerobic, General: both "gases" and "gasses" are used. Result 2-13: "manifestation" needs closing parenthesis. Result 14-15: "plantients require nitrogen" -- ??

Pg. 98, Gene Splice, results 32-33 and 34+: "target creatures" --> "target creature's"

Pg. 98, Merge, General: "their body" --> "his or her body", though "his" is used throughout. Result 26-29: "redirect's" --> "redirects". Result 30-31: "targets" --> "target's"

Pg. 100, Metallic Skin: "they" and "their" throughout.

Pg. 101, Phase Shift, General: "their" --> "his or her"

Pg. 102, Singularity, Manifestation (1): "their" --> "his or her". Result 32-33: "judges" --> "judge's"

Pg. 103, Xenomorph, General: "them" --> "him or her". Result 8-10: "his" --> "its". Result 18-19: "them" --> "him or her".

Pg. 104, Assimilation, General: "his will" --> "his or her will" and "their target" --> "his or her target". "he" and "his" throughout results. 34+: "their own mind" --> "their own minds".
Pg. 105, Cognitive Immortality, General: "their" --> "his or her".

The next 5 mutations also have "they", "their", and "them" in multiple spots.

Also, uses of "therefor" vs. "therefore" in the book are about equal.

P.12 - The book does not mention the Maximum Number of Wetware Programs, so this entry has no purpose

P.12 - Says Max Wetware Program Level is based on personality for Healers. Healers do not have access to Wetware Programs

P. 26 - The Healer's naturopathy is not really explained on how it works. I assume it works like DCC lay-on-hands for just healing

P.129 - On Recovering the Body, there is no difficulty for the Luck check listed (DCC lists it as 10)

P. 130 - Under Burning Luck, mentions thief skills. No thief skills in the game

Misc rules nots: there is no mention of how to get new Wetware spells aside from the Patron AI Bond program

There is no mention of skill checks or the dice chain, though moving up and down the dice chain is mentioned in Combat

errata:

page 12, table 1-1, line of ability score 7: max wetware program level is blank (the "1" is in the column to the left)

page 32, manimal level 7, shows crits as 1d12 on crit table II, instead of III

page 111 - range is listed as "range: 1 turn", instead of providing a distance

page 163, gauzer rifle, last sentance: "at to 10 multiple..." should read "at 10 multiple..." or "at up to 10...."

page 222, invoke patron result 32+, 4th line: "using a d30_20 action die" d30[underscore]20 should be d30, or d20, or something

page 222, patron taint result 2: s in "shaman" not capitalized

unclear:

page 173, why does cortexin cylinder have 3 DCs listed?

page 208, patron taint 4: does this occur once when the taint is aquired, or is it supposed to happen whenever the shaman activates a wetware program (like results 3 and 6), or something else?

possibly missing:

nowhere can I find what to roll for a wetware program check
nowhere can I find what dice to roll for critical hits rolled by monsters (the equivalent of DCC table 9-10)

Pg 12, Table 1-1: Ability Score Modifiers, 5th row (Ability Score 7), 5th column (Max Wetware Program Level**): the value in the spot, 1, is at the end of the 4th column.

Also, this may just be my misunderstanding, or I may be missing something, but this table confuses me. It includes a modifier to the Max Wetware Programs, -2 through +6, but I'm confused as to -2 to what? Table 2-3: Shaman doesn't have a maximum number of wetware programs, so I'm confused as to what the modifier, er, modifies.

Both Table 1-1 and Table 2-3 have a Max Wetware Program Level column, one based on ability score and the other based on class level.

In Table 1-1, the Max Wetware Program Level column is "Based on Intelligence for shamans and Personality for healers." Wetware isn't mentioned in the Healer class description.

page 246
results for 30-33

Sentence:
"The shaman may direct this data stream to be replicated at any other known location
within 100 miles, or optionally, to be dispersed into the aether the planet’s electromagnetic field"

There should probably be an "of" after "aether" and before "the planet's".

Page 174
Force Field Projector

Quoted Sentence:
"The force field is impermeable to all physical and energy attacks while intact, though it should be noted that this effectively limits the available
amount of breathable air for occupants without life support capabilities. Once the force field has been breached, it takes the projector 1 hour to recycle and recharge before being able to project another force field."

Since it's impermeable to all physical and energy attacks (and obviously immune to mental ones), how can it be breached?

I'd guess it can be taken down by an EMP, but to me "breached" seems to indicate - due to damage sustained.

To me that could use some clarification or rewording. Thanks for reading.

Gene Resequencer

Quoted Text:
"Since mastery of this most sophisticated instrument of the ancients is unlikely, use the table at right to determine the outcome
of activation by primitives (allowing normal Artifact check bonuses)."

The table is not "at right", it's on the next page, page 175.

Page 15
Table 1-6: Mutant Appearance
Result 25-27

Quoted text:
Body: Roll 1d6 (1) has a tail; (2) has 1d4 arms, round up to even number; (3) has 1d4 legs, round up to
even number; (4) has ridged back; (5) has symbiotic twin in stomach; (6) is segmented like a worm.

It seems a bit unclear for 2 and 3. Are those Additional Limbs, or Total Limbs.
(I'm totally guess it's additional limbs, because what kind of mutant appearance is normal quantity of limbs?)

If it is Additional Limbs, I'd suggest changing the word "has" to "gains" in both of those results.

Maybe not typo but IMHO awkward phrasing. On page 9 on climate and ecology we have 'the planet seems to have chosen to do so by under- going an explosive evolutionary radiation of its native life forms.'. The planet 'undergoing radiation' feels oddly phrased to me, but maybe it's the intent.

For all the pure strain human classes, the Archaic Alignment choices have double "the"
either the The Clan of Cog
On page 19, under Level Advancement, it has a leftover from DCC
Rather, successfully surviving encounters earns the characters XP in DCC RPG
Also under page 19, Choosing a Class, this section
For pure strain humans, the unknowing descendants of the longest-evolved and most adaptable genotype, the rise from 0-level hunter-gatherer to seeker means specializing in one of four separate character classes for pure stain humans, or three race-as-class for mutants, manimals, and plantients
In addition to the "pure stain", the whole sentence is weirdly worded. Twice indicating that this applies for pure strain humans, then ending with the option of the race-as-class, it reads as if the pure strain human may either specialize in one of those classes or in the mutant, manimial, and plantient classes.
