Classic D&D Module: B1 and B2. Anyone seen it?

Post by redcloud111 »

Hey, all. Did anyone see this at Gen Con?

In the article:
http://goodman-games.com/blog/2017/03/2 ... -editions/
they mention it might be available. Just wondering if any had a look at it.

If not, does anyone know how the writing/publishing of this is going?

Thanks!

They mentioned it during the What's New seminar but I don't recall if they were shooting for a release date this year or early next.

Soulc. Thanks for the info. I am now hoping, maybe, that someone from GG will see my post and respond. Take care!

I, too, am curious about this release. I saw it on the Wizards site and immediately got excited about it, but found next to no info about it online aside from a few blog posts. Not even anywhere to preorder.

Which is odd because it was supposedly going to go up on early bird sale during GenCon.

According to Wizards, the release date, still advertised on their site, is the 30th of this month.

I certainly would love to know what its status is as I intend to purchase the ever-loving crud out of it.

I found an answer, and it kind of bums me out how hard it was to find.

I visited the booth out there - it's now being targeted for a November release. Wasn't ready for the show. They had a cover preview, looks fantastic.
Nice to know they're not rushing out something that's not quite ready. Would've been nice if there were some direct announcement about it though.

That's what I've been sleuthing for since finding that first post.
This video from two days ago shows it at the three minute or so mark:

The compilation has a proper name, "Into The Borderlands".

Great, great, great news. I like the idea of it being longer. This shows the care it needs. Eagerly waiting for this one.

Oh man. That is awesome.

Will there be any way to buy digital versions of the updated maps? I run most of my games on VTT...

I've checked the product page on WotC site and it now lists a December release date. Does anyone know if it will be available also in PDF format?

I don't know, but if it does, it'll be hard for me to pick one, because while I'd love to have the full book that I can open and flip through, since I run my games online a pdf would be a much handier reference...

Reading between the lines on this project, I think we'd be better off asking WotC what's up. It has sounded like WotC are the ones being picky and slowing things down, and I'm sure Goodman Games can't come out and say "yep, WotC is slowing things down"...

I contacted WotC customer service earlier this week. I received this response today:
Thank you for contacting Wizards of the Coast Customer Service! Unfortunately, at this time we don't have any further information about that particular upcoming product. The best recommendation we can provide is to keep watching on that web site as well as Goodman Games and as soon as we have more information you will know.

Perhaps someone from Goodman Games could have more information?

No doubt they have more information. But as the bigger fish in the pond, WotC has control over the release of information, the timing of release, etc. Goodman can't tell us what they are not allowed to tell us.

I'd imagine there will be more predictability with future releases in this line, since the kinks will be worked out. But this one's taking extra long, isn't it?
