fantasy earth

has anyone considered using/actually used dcc to run games set in some sort of pseudo-historical fantasy earth, like preferred lamentations of the flame princess setting?

My weekly campaign takes place in what I call "Progressive Fantasy Earth" which is basically just Earth roughly 700 years ago but without the ignorance, sexism, and strict social rules that are often hallmarks of medieval history. We're more interested in letting people play the characters they want to play and getting into the action than we are in creating "realism." But using the Earth as a template allows me to do some really cool things. For one, my world map has already been drawn. Second, I can re-tell historical events from a new perspective. It's a lot of fun and everyone already knows something about the world so I don't really need to explain a whole lot.
