Reference Sheets for New Players (WIP)

Post by Kergalli »

Getting ready to put together a new DCC game this Fall and decided to work up some reference sheets to facilitate character creation and help non-DCC players get familiar with action and check resolution. These are basically first drafts, so any suggestions are welcome.

DCC RPG 0-level Character Creation Cheatsheet
2-sided sheet containing just about everything a player would need to create new 0-level characters. Only thing missing in the Occupation table. Added a quantity of 1d4 to iron spikes and torches in the Starting Equipment table (#8).

DCC RPG What to Roll
1-sided reference sheet detailing the various rolls/checks in DCC and how to determine the results.

how about adding the occupation chart on there and closing the deal?

EDIT: I really like it though. Its better than the ghetto version I did as a one sheet handout to my players.

I would have loved to have squeeze the Occupation table on there, but it just isn't feasible in a single sheet without making everything a 3 pt font. I planned on just having a copy of the Occupation table from the book on the side, after recording the 3 bits of info from that table, there isn't much additional use for it.

Updated to include grappling, remaining on a spooked horse and errata (thieves receiving intelligence modifier when reading scrolls - thanks Pesky!).

Also wondering how people are playing the Dwarf's Sword and Board. Does the Dwarf add his strength modifier when making this attack? The rules just say d14 and the deed die like any normal attack. I would think so, but it isn't 100% clear.

Yeah, I think I'll add that to the ref sheet. Makes sense.
