Goodman Games

From the spell description, this does not work to summon monsters to fight for you like animal summoning. It says the monsters have to stay inside the pentacle for the duration.

So is the purpose of this spell to summon monsters to talk to them? I'm trying to figure out the utility of this spell. thanks,

I believe when you get to success rolls of 20+, the "must remain in the pentacle" text goes away. They are still dispelled if the pentacle is broken, but no longer restricted to remaining within it.
