Attack as part of a charge action?

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I'm probably reading too much into it, but when charging is the intent to allow the character to attack at the end of the charge, as part of the same action? Or is the benefit of charging the +2 to attack roles until the next turn? Seems like the latter would only be useful if the character had more than one action dice.

Yes. To charge the character moves at least half their speed, then attacks w/ a +2 bonus, all as a part of the same action. In exchange they're penalized -2 to AC until their next turn.
