So, despite my love of Tal, i haven't got to play it, but i plan to cheat...
The whole set up of Talislanta seems custom built for Dungeon Crawl Classics.
Race as Class (DCC) = Talislanta Races
Occupation (DCC) = Talislanta Archetypes
Funky Dice (DCC) = Can cover the ride range of Tal PCs, weapons etc
Gonzo fantasy (DCC) = Gonzo fantasy (Talislanta)
If i'm going to do this, it basically means that there are no generic classes, only race as Class.

Re: Playing DCC using a Talislanta Conversion
I'm familiar with Talislanta mostly through ads in Dragon magazine. (Their "no elves" slogan always grabbed my attention.) It sounds like a fantastic fantasy world from everything I've heard but I don't really know much about it and sadly have never seen any products for it.
I'll be watching this thread to find out more about the setting and what makes it so DCC-like.

The whole Talislanta back catalogue is available, free and legally in pdf form, online HERE. Look under Downloads->Talislanta Libraryfinarvyn wrote:I'm familiar with Talislanta mostly through ads in Dragon magazine. (Their "no elves" slogan always grabbed my attention.) The best and most complete iteration in terms of rules and coverage, was the 4th edition (aka the BBB, Big Blue Book) found HERE
Take a look at the credits pages of most of the 4th and 5th edition books too, and you'll see a familiar name.

Re: Playing DCC using a Talislanta Conversion
I really liked Talislanta. Lots of cool races(no Elves, Dwarves, Halflings), unique settings, etc. Not the "normal" fantasy. Cool stuff!

Wow. That's a lot of free downloads.
Where do I start? What's the "best" edition to look at?
