Thanks Skars, and anyone else who has already purchased! Any review/feedback would be appreciated.

There is a lot of material in this module. A lot. New patron information, 60 separate described areas, a new spell, unique monsters both OGC and not, things for PCs to tinker with, things best left alone, things that are not too horrible to fight, things that will make an overconfident party cringe. Some cool items that will make your players' eyes light up with greed. Some scenes that might induce feelings of uncomfortableness. Moral dilemmas with no clear solutions, just consequences based upon what you decide to do. Elves that are not at all nice.

Two encounters in the playtests nearly resulted in TPKs, but the PCs won through. My players were in turns disgusted, horrified, delighted, and even more delighted. Then they left a bunch of treasure behind because they decided that the area was too damn dangerous, and they had pushed their luck as far as they were willing to.

There is also some really spiffy artwork by David Fisher!

And the fellow you see above is OGC. Sorry, let me clarify that. The stats and description are OGC; the artwork is not.

I hope you like what you see, and I would really love to know your opinions when you've had a chance to use the material. Hopefully, you will find a bunch of it reusable in other adventures. Especially the items characters might take with them!

BTW, I detect some strong Poul Anderson influences in this product!

Between Stars in the Darkness (Purple Duck) and The Revelation of Mulmo (Dragon's Hoard), I think I used at least one homage to every Appendix N source of elves there is. I might have missed something, somewhere, but I really tried hard not to. Even the idea that, in some sources, elves are not called by name (even if contrasted to the Younger Races/Kingdoms) I tried to make some use of the source.

Obviously, there is a lot of new material there as well. But, the better you know your Appendix N, the more in jokes and references you are going to find. There are a few non-Appendix N fantasy references as well, either obscure or obvious, and a few references to Appendix N works that have little or nothing to do with elves.

I had fun writing it. I hope you have as much fun as my players did when you bring it to your table.

Tomb of Curses is great too. Reminds me of Tomb of Horrors- tricky & deadly!

Would you call Cotillion Vancian? Or which did you attribute to San Francisco's Renaissance Man?

I have a question.

<spoiler>

What are hunting fauns supposed to look like? Large evil-looking Satyrs?

As far as spoilers go, that isn't a major one. Rather than "evil-looking", consider fey, strange, and not friendly....like an avalanche, hunger, or some other force of nature. It will kill you, but it isn't personal. Of course, in this case, it will enjoy killing you, but it still isn't personal.

You could do far worse than consider the faun in Pan's Labyrinth as a baseline for such a creature. The design is exquisite. In fact, if you have not seen this movie, go and see it. Now.

I am merely the hack who wrote the damn thing; Sean Conners is in charge of setting up the print version. :lol:

I believe the goal is to ensure that backers get their copies before print becomes available to the general public.
