Haven't had chance to look at the pdf yet (haven't even really looked at the list of patrons) but tickled to hear you went the black pharaoh route. My being a contributor to the new edition of Cthulhu by Gaslight should give you an idea of how much I love HPL's work. :) If you play CoC keep your eyes peeled for a forthcoming web enhancement for Gaslight.

For those who are interested in this sort of thing, these are my patrons who failed to make the cut:

Mater Tenebrarum, Our Lady of Darkness
Mulmo, He Who Whispers Forgotten Secrets (but will appear in The Revelation of Mulmo, a supporter-benefit module!)
Om-Morru the Overmind
Utu, Whose Roots Entwine Worlds
Akilupus, Howling Prince of Wolves
Agyagax, Ancestral Shaman
Hizzzgrad, Daemonic Lord of Crawling Things
Mab, Dark Queen of Faerie
Carbluenza, Demon Prince of Disease
Yallafial, Queen of Birds
Michuval, Angel of War
Illuminael, Angel of Light
Gloriana, Faerie Godmother

I suspect that, sooner or later, all of them will show up in something.

@Colin: One need not play Cthulhu to use Cthulhu materials. I have found converting almost any game system to DCC to be a fairly simple process, and, the more Appendix N the material, the easier it is. Modules for games like Call of Cthulhu and Conan are meat and potatoes for the DCC judge.

Following the work of many Appendix N authors, I would strongly consider running a Gaslight scenario in its proper era, with the knowledge that, sooner or later, the survivors will find themselves on another plane......One in which my main campaign is ongoing!

I'm completely tied up with a stretch goal product attached to Angels and Daemons (Tomb of Curses) and my own project -- In the Prison of the Squid Sorcerer!

All that to say that I'm not sure what Sean is going to do with the plethora of extra patrons.

Absolutely. F'rinstance, one of my favourite campaigns of all time was WFRP's The Enemy Within (at least up to and including Power Behind The Throne). Ran that sucker, appropriately modified and disguised, in several different rpg systems, settings, and time periods.

I like it very much. I would buy a second & third volume. Id like to see a bigger variety of types of Patrons. Evil nasty ones seem alot easier. Maybe some more neutral or even slightly benevolent Patrons.

Thanks Sean, I always appreciated your youtube videos so I expect nothing less with this supplement.

I think you see darker patrons more often because that's how they are described mostly in the book as being dark.

When Pesh is ready to be released upon the world, I suspect that you will be happy, even if the stars are not yet right.

That was my experience. I have four that are strictly benevolent, but benevolence does not equal good in the mortal sense, necessarily. I think several of Daniel's can be regarded as neutral. The Four Maidens of Tylin are kind of neutral-ish.

If it needs to be updated, since it's on Drivethru/RPGNow, you'll get any updated version if you purchase the PDF. I think all of the issues are corrected as of this writing...

I was sent the pdf directly rather than via DTRPG/RPGNow, but if it helps people know if they have an updated file or not, the one on DTRPG/RPGNow was last updated on the 12th.

I will ultimately be sending all our backers another PDF nearer the book release.

With so many eyes, any errors can be cleaned up however I think most would agree its very polished.

However we want to make sure it's as close to perfect as we can make it before we bring this project to a close.

Kind regards

Great to hear but please, change this name: all I can think of is influenza.

Really hope you get the others out there though. Love having a bunch of patrons to choose from and it's too much work for me to make them myself.

That was sort of the idea; he is the Demon Prince of Disease.

I really hope that the first book does well enough to merit a Volume II!
