Wow, what a first post!

I put the BHP up for today's post. I also got all fancy and added proper widgets for both Kickstarters on my blog.

Hey Outsider68 (Sean), welcome to the forums and what a great pledge. Fantastic!

Just occured to me, ages ago I enjoyed a review on youtube of Dragon Warriors... Was that you? It was good and I enjoyed some of the other videos too.

Edit: just seen your comments on the kickstarter Sean. Yes thanks for the youtube stuff, it was good. Cheers.

I have to say I am surprised it has gotten this high this fast. Not because it's not a worthwhile project but because most supporters are going to choose the $20 option and I wasn't sure there was a big enough fan base for DCC (yet). Don't get me wrong, I am a supporter so I was really pulling for this to succeed, I am just pleasantly surprised is all.

I attribute the success to a few things:

1. Reputation - I haven't purchased one of Brave Halfings products before but I have read so many glowing things about them I decided to pre-order the Delving Deeper Box set a couple weeks ago and now I am supporting this as well.

2. Great value - Seriously, for $20 you a minimum of two modules (now up to 3 and counting) and it includes shipping? That's awesome.

Some of the other (non-DCC) kickstarters could learn from this. I will gladly buy products in good faith to help support small publishers and such but I don't want to pay a premium just so you can bankroll vanity pieces with unnecessarily high production values. Maybe it's just "kickstarter fatigue" setting in but between the OSR products coming out and the DCC products I am starting to become more choosy about who gets my money.

This kickstarter I didn't even hesitate on though. The basic goal was a no-brainer to be reached and even if it never went higher, you knew you would get good value either way and support a good cause at the same time.

3. Awesome higher end support options - For $500 you can have a module published, possibly get some recognition if you have future aspirations in the field and you get 50 copies of your game. If you can sell them online, to friends and so on for $10 each you could even make your money back to boot! Honestly it's tempting me right now and I don't even have a module in mind!

Did you all read this update????
As a natural pessimist, I am hesitant to share my plan for an additional Bonus Goal, but the email requests are already filling my inbox - so I will let all of the supporters know about it first. Five years ago, I spent many months working with Gary Gygax on a unique campaign setting for his game, Lejendary Adventures. We shared back-and-forth almost daily about designing settings, npc races, magic item creation, divine beings, etc. Maps were created and art was commissioned. With Gary's passing and the end of his game, I decided to not release this material. However, from the first time I got to read some of the early DCC RPG play-test material, I knew this campaign setting had found a new home! So my friends, if this kickstarter reaches $15,000, everyone who has pledged $20 or more will also receive a pdf copy and a print copy of, Appendix N Adventure Toolkit #5: "The Old Isle Campaign Setting." This product will include a 11" x 17" color campaign map, a digest Player's and Referee's Guide. While all Appendix N Adventures are generic and can be placed into any campaign, they all do have specific locations in the Old Isle Setting.

I'm seriously considering upping my pledge in the hopes of making Old Isle ......... I wouldn't have thought it possible, but now? Not sure I want to bet against him.

That's why I pledged $500 in my view that's actually amazing value.
Don't get me wrong my wife was like you want to what?
Then I explained my reasoning she was like maybe then I said look at what you get and above all else I will be able to get published with one of my own modules.
So that would make you an author "she said" I said yes darling.
She was still hesitating at this point so I said don't you believe in me!
She then said "you better get writing" and don't sell yourself short.i laughed and replied the company is called brave halfling publishing she collapsed laughing then we pledged.
Thought I share for anyone hesitant.

Woooooah!

What an amazing stretch goal. Spread the word.

It's a setting so players of other games might even be interested.

I have tagged this news on to the Review thread at EnWorld.

It's really incredible what the community has done in just a few days. I wish I got paid this week, as we're just $14 away from hitting the next stretch goal.

Backed at $32. This is the first Kickstarter which I have ever backed.

I think it is probably the best value that I have seen in a Kickstarter project yet.

Perhaps I should up my pledge...

Upped my contrib to $51. We are now over $4000.

I figure 4 modules for ~$50 is a great deal. With the ability to contribute it is a huge deal.

I posted at EnWorld on the General Forum and as part of the DCC Review.

We might get the OSR/Gygax fans interested if anybody has any good ways to spread word to them?

Great job on the 4k goal. What a bargain. I can't afford to up my pledge or I would :D
