Most find death in the crumbling ruins that stretch beyond sight into the mists south of the Great City; once rich districts now claimed by swamp and dark denizens. But for the desperate few, the ruins offer treasures the Great City denies them: fortune, glory, and a fighting chance!

Challenge your players with SC Series Adventures set in the massive crumbling ruins of the swamp-ravaged Sunken City. Easily introduce waves of beginning characters to your world, winnowing 0-level mobs down to bands of hardy explorers ready for even more dangerous fare!
  • Features of the Sunken City Adventures
  • Officially compatible with the DCC RPG
  • Designed for 0-level characters with conversion notes for 1-level explorers
  • Easily dropped into most campaigns
  • Travel to and from the dangers of the Sunken City using unpredictable demon-powered sending stones!
  • Every foe encountered is a new and unique creation - no standard baddies!
  • Deliciously deadly, but with enough levity to keep the fun-factor high
  • Available at the launch of the DCC RPG in early 2012!
Once your players move on to greater challenges, transition to the M Series of adventures, beginning with Against the Vortex Temple. The M Series will take your characters on a journey from local obscurity to legendary renown! [Beginning Spring 2012]

About Purple Sorcerer Games
Purple Sorcerer Games is the creation of Goodman-Games Forum regular Tovokas - designer of the popular 0-level Character Generator (over 75,000 DCC characters created!) and the 'Funky' dice roller. Needing additional adventures to test the creations of his character generator, the first Sunken City adventure was born, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Nice. I like the sound of a sunken city and "sending stones." 8)

Three things:
1. The pictures show up as red X's on my computer, so I can't see the artwork.
2. The link sent me nowhere.
3. Is the M-series of modules a set that you are still writing or are they out in another format other than DCC? The post makes it sound like I ought to have heard of them before.

EDIT: As to #3 above I see a "beginning Spring, 2112" so I guess they are still being written. I should read more closely.

Thanks finarvyn!

Anyone else having problems seeing the images or visiting the site? (Can't seem to recreate the problem on my end...)

I really like your art direction. It's nice art and strikes a good tone. It's also very distinctive. I think it could turn out to be a very strong brand.

I can see it now, and I agree with Smathis. Very cool having the shadows of people in the foreground. Kind of like we're looking over the shoulders of the guys ahead of us and we see what they see.

Love it! 8)

Jon, these are looking good...I'm eager to see the final results. :)

P.S. The images look okay on my computer (Mac using Safari).

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It's been a pleasure to work on these, and I'm looking forward with great anticipation to the DCC RPG launch!

Must be on my end. I can see them great from my computer at work, but here at home I'm still getting red x's. And I'm still getting an error message on the link from home. Very mysterious. :?

Anyway, they looked great yesterday!

After further investigation I'm wondering if it's an AOL brouser thing. When I try the link I keep getting a message that says "This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that this program was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage."

That may tie into the fact that I can't see the pictures from home. If for some reason AOL won't let me view the page, it probably won't let me look at content linked to the page either.

Just a theory.

Hey I first have to thank you for the DCC character generator! When I play with new folks, I typically make them roll up 2 or 3 characters to get a feel for how it's done, and then we head to your generator. Thanks so much!

I think you've done a really good job with the art direction and i'm looking forward to the serial nature of the adventures. While standalone adventures are fun, I have a soft spot for larger campaigns that can be strung together over 3 or more modules. These look like they're going to be fun.

I agree. The character geneator is a huge time-saver! 8)

Who uses AOL anymore?

Me. I was so happy to have finally gotten away from dial-up and into broadband, but AOL still sometimes gives me fits. I have some computer geek buddies who make fun of me for using AOL, but I'm familar with it and I hate change.

I guess I fit in that "computer geek buddy" category. That's a result of 32-39 on the Urban Encounters table. I just got my mom off AOL. She was still using dial-up. She doesn't use the computer any more or less than she used to. But I can work from her house now which makes frequent visits more of a possibility.

Don't mean to razz you too hard. I'm change-resistant myself.

I'm going to be buying these adventures.

My wallet hates my guts (but not as much as it'll hate me in a month).

Thanks for the support OgrePuppy!

The first two Sunken City Adventures (Perils of the Sunken City, and The Ooze Pits of Jonas Gralk) are on schedule to be released when the print version of the DCCRPG hits game stores. The third adventure, A Gathering of the Marked, will follow in a couple of months.

In preparation for the launch, I've updated the 0-level party generator with all the current occupation and character info. Also, while playtesting the Sunken City Adventures, I found it useful to create a single page chart sheet containing most of the tables necessary for new players to get going, to be printed out in tandem with the player's 0-level party sheet. Hopefully you'll find it I useful as I do!

Perils of the Sunken City will initially by available as a PDF through RPGNow, with a print-on-demand softcover option to follow soon after.

Depending on response we'll look into other print options for future releases. :)

A bit cheeky perhaps, but is there any chance of getting a downloadable version of the 0-level generator, please? I'd love to be able to use it off-line, and I'd happily pay for such a utility.

Or an ipad app would be good for me anyways.
