Clarification Question

Just wanted to make sure I'm not misunderstanding the MDoA action roll. It's only a success if the roll "exceeds" the target's AC, not "equal' to?

Two things have to happen for a Mighty Deed to work. You need to hit the target's AC, AND you need to roll a 3 or better on the Deed Die (which is a d3 at 1st level, d4 at 2nd etc.)

Yeah, I understand that, but my question concerns the wording between a successful attack against an opponent, which states the total on the action die must be "equal to or higher" than the target's AC, whereas under the MDoA section is states that the action roll has to "exceed" the AC, no mention of being equal to.

I was curious if this was an intended design difference or maybe an overlooked mistake of wording.

It's surely a typo in the Beta... Hopefully touched up in the Hardcover version...

You just have to hit (as normal), not better the AC for the MDoA to work.
