DCC RPG and Free RPG Day

Post by mshensley »

I just noticed this on the Free RPG Day site (http://www.freerpgday.com/)-
Goodman Games
Silver (5 per box), DCC RPG Quickstart
I certainly hope this is ready by then.

Yeah, we were just talking about that at DunDraCon (me and Aldo, the guy who runs Free RPG Day). The Beta rules will be released as PDF right around Free RPG Day (I'll need up until the last minute to get everything finalized!). And the Free RPG Day release itself will be a straightforward adventure, probably 0-level, to get everyone kicked off on their run through the beta rules.

Pardon me, Mr. Goodman, but will you be releasing the Free RPG day item as a pdf download sometime after Free RPG day for those of us who unfortunately don't have participating stores within a reasonable driving distance?

Thanks for any information

Yes -- tentative plan is to offer some of the leftover print copies for sale online, as well as offer the PDF download a couple days after the event.

This also proves you're not worthy! Lord Goodman told us that you can only spellburn strength, agility and stamina! :)

Ooh, imagine the result table for a "Hideous Laughter"-type spell. Spellburn for more laughter and worse. I like it.

That is most welcome news, since many of the Free RPG Day products become instant collectables and go for top dollar on e-bay. Hopefully there will be a good way that those of us who are on the boards will have a good shot at it without having to sell the wife and kids.
