DCC Cthulhu Bestiary

Post by nethru »

Hello new here! Love the DCC game but was wondering if there are more cthulhu monsters already created for the game from cthulhu? Like Shoggoths, Mi-Go, etc... I see Deep Ones in the core book already.

Thanks!

There are a number of DCC products that touch on Lovecraftian themes. Some of these have stats for Lovecrafian, or disguised Lovecraftian, monsters. You may find the following to be useful:

Wrath of the Frost Queen
50 Fantastic Functions For The D50
DCC #78: Fate's Fell Hand
In the Prison of the Squid Sorcerer
The Tribe of Ogg and the Gift of Suss
AL 1: Bone Hoard of the Dancing Horror
FT 0: Prince Charming, Reanimator
FT 1: Creeping Beauties of the Wood
FT 2: The Portsmouth Mermaid
FT 2.1: Three Nights in Portsmouth
The Ooze Pits of Jonas Gralk
Sanctum Secorum Episode #09 Companion: Two From H.P. Lovecraft
Angels, Daemons, and Beings Between: Expanded, Otherworldy Edition
Crawl! fanzine #9
SoBH pbp:

Cathbad the Meek (herbalist Wizard 1): AC 9; 4 hp; S 7, A 7, St 10, P 17, I 13, L 8; Neutral; Club, herbs, 50' rope, 50 cp; -1 to melee attack rolls. Hideous scar.

Isn't there supposed to be a .PDF of DCC stats for Mythos creatures coming out from the last Age Of Cthulhu KS?

Can't wait! Some day, when the Stars are Right, I'm going to run a DCC campaign in a fantasy world whose pantheon consists of the Old Ones, Elder Gods, Outer Gods, etc...

The PC's will have their minds and sanity blasted.

And I will laugh.

I wrote Wrath of the Frost Queen, and it's on DrivethruRPG for a much lowered price since the original post. :D

However: when you say "lovecraftian bestiary" do you want named, standard mythos critters? Or would "weird" creatures suffice? HPL did write with aliens in mind, like the Migo being "the fungus from yuggoth" (aka Pluto, which was discovered around them). Weird fiction, however, was often about the inability to describe things. In that vein, you could use the suggestions in the DCC book: roll for weird features on other known critters, try for strange and eldritch forms.
