Re: DCC RPG 4th printing: What do you want?
Word is getting out about the KS. Tenkar had it up on his blog, and he gets a LOT of traffic from what I can tell. I think 90% of that or more could be genuine. Anybody interested / on the fence could see that limited option and just decide to jump on in...Blood Axe wrote:Im thinking there are a lot of liars for the "First Time fan" pledge to get the extra adventure & swag. 320 pledgers and 140 are first timers.......

I hope you are correct, more players makes the whole game better for all of us, a bit of free swag that has every likelihood of being an adventure one already has anyway is far less important.GnomeBoy wrote:Word is getting out about the KS. Backed! Thanks for feeling out our input. I love how your company listens to its market audience. Ultimately, you didn't have to.

I know it would be a bit of a rush to do, but in terms of _new_ stretch goals (post 70K commitment), how cool would it be to have a reprinting (or conversion) of the Known Realms Gazetteer? That booger is a difficult one to find, and when it does pop up, it tends to command a small fortune.
And barring that, maybe a new expansion for Aereth?

I ended up biting the bullet and paying £60 plus P&P for a copy. Nice one though; still shrick wrapped.
There would be loads of takers I expect

Well then, all the better. I mean, I'm not expecting miracles here (*burns some luck anyway), but maybe then a preliminary work to revamp Aereth in DCC's likeness... I can see something along the realms of Jack Vance's Dying Earth (or something very close due to uncertainties surrounding copyright here). That would be _very_ true to form for DCC/MCC..

One single world is not a big enough setting for DCC RPG.

On the contrary; one small Country would be quite big enoughmythfish wrote:One single world is not a big enough setting for DCC RPG.
Re: DCC RPG 4th printing: What do you want?
I wouldn't disagree here. Obviously the system (like most) can be tailored to run anywhere. As much inspirational (and fun) material is out there, you could do anything. A single world would merely be the jumping off point or could be used as-is. Heck, even the original Greyhawk was left mostly left open for DMs to flesh out on their own. Take that a few steps further, and now I have a Vancian wreck of a Greyhawk both familiar and yet, completely twisted. The multiverse is just like that: a veritable limitless mirror maze of slight deviations and permutations.mythfish wrote:One single world is not a big enough setting for DCC RPG.
Kind of reminds me of walking through Shadow in Zelazny's Amber: _YOU_ make it what it is from your fount of inspiration. .

It's handy to have a ready made world; quite a few of us don't have time to homebrew such a thing at the minute

It's just a reprint though, right? It's not like they're cleaning up the rules or adding all new interior art, right? Just a new module at the end and some cosmetic enhancements?

I think (all of?) the reprinted modules will have material that was added or released after initial publication.Max_The_Judge wrote:It's just a reprint though, right? The book itself will have some new art and a new adventure, and fix typos or such that remained from before.

Hmm... It's hard for me to justify buying another copy just for that.

If you don't have those modules, it's got six modules included, which would run about $60 retail on their own...Max_The_Judge wrote:Hmm... It's hard for me to justify buying another copy just for that.
