My favorite setting for fantasy gaming is Midgard. Everything about it just fits what I love about Fantasy.
The races do include Kobolds and Dragonmen as well as a slew of other races(Crow people descended from Odin's magical crows)Minotaurs ect...
The Gods are just more...well....Godly. The entire world is flat and circled by a giant serpent biting its own tail who will one day destroy the world ect
At the same time there is a race of Gearforged and a Goddess of Steam type tech/magic.
I dunno,it just hits all the right spots for me to run games in.
All that said I'm not too sure DCC RPG would be a great fit for it.

Re: Midgard
Anyone else run DCC RPG with a more standard fantasy setting?
How do you handle it?

Re: Midgard
Midgard does look nice. What is an AGE-compatible book

Re: Midgard
Dragon Age rpg uses the Age system.
Though to be honest I don't think it is yet in anything besides Dragon Age rpg. It's a nice system but I hate the setting of Dragon Age.
I have the Midgard pdf and the Age section is very very small. Mostly its a fluff book with a little Pathfinder crunch.

Me too. It's a weak Warhammer Fantasy rip-off.Gameogre wrote:It's a nice system but I hate the setting of Dragon Age.
Vorpal Mace: a humble rpg blog with some DCC-related stuff.

Re: Midgard
Midgard is intriguing, very.... Norse. I'll have to pick it up. Is the one setting book really the only one you need? I might have to change it to a real round planet/future earth thing so that an occasional Gamma World type scenario is possible.
Raven Crowking should get Shanthopal out, I'd love to see it.

Re: Midgard
I own the Midgard setting book on pdf and picked up a Zobeck city book used. The Zobeck city book is ok but to be honest I use only the map and general city layout descriptions. The rest isn't needed if have the time to flush it out yourself.
There are other books out for it but I really the main book is all you need.
Since I'm not running it with Age or Pathfinder, the other books seem more crunch and therefor not needed.
Until I read Midgard I played in the World of Greyhawk. I have dozens of setting books but for me,Midgard hits the perfect spot between traditional fantasy and a more mythic and magical world.
