Has anyone used the DCC rpg ruleset to run monsters as PCs instead of the traditional ones (warrior, wizard, etc)? I have a fiction novel that I have read that uses what are traditionally monsters as the "heros". They are a motley collection from all over their kingdom and are given a dire quest from their king. That sounds just like a standard rpg to me!
I am wanting to convert the book to a one-time rpg (well, it may take a couple of sessions, but nothing long term). So, I want to use the stats for the monsters in the back of the book to use for my players. Do they scale up appropriately? I really hope so. I want this to work out! Especially since I have to spend the next week at the in-laws with nothing better to do than work this up!

it's DCC... do something original and wacky. Don't worry about balance.
