Tacticon 2012, Aurora, CO.

Post by Drohem »

Hello! First post here. :)

I had been to a few conventions before, but only with a Shopper's Pass and did not participate in any of the events. This was the first convention where I played in the RPG events, and one of the events that I played in was the DCC RPG Fate's Fell Hand play test hosted by Harley Stroh. Out of the four RPG events that I signed up for this was the one that I looked forward to with excited anticipation. Harley delivered in spades! It was the most old-school RPG fun that I've had in a long time, and took me back to the halcyon days of 1985 when I first played 1e AD&D. I've read great things about the game and was very interested in it, and I am now sold on the DCC RPG and purchased a print copy after the game.

Harley, thank you for a great game and first convention experience!

Mr. Goodman, thank you for a kick-ass RPG!

P.S.: I played a Thief named Narlyn Bakerson, a 'Dungeon Specialist,' in Sunday's 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. game. He died after stabbing a giant brain and pissing off the colossus who owned it.

Welcome to the boards, and to your first Con event. Sounds like your character death was glorious and worthy of tellling for years to come!

Drohem!

Thank you so much for playing! I had a blast with you guys (but man, that initial streak of bad dice was killer).

What we ended up playing (last minute switch on my part) was Colossus, Arise! , not Fate ... I'd hate for you to look in the Fate adventure and not see your name credited. Colossus hasn't been announced on the release schedule yet, but it will most likely probably be early 2013. Who knows, maybe we'll have it in time for Genghis Con.

Thanks again! You guys did a great job with the play test, and soldiered through to the bitter end.

Ah, cool. :) Thanks for clarifying.

We did roll an unusual amount of 2's for the whole group. Well, even if Narlyn survived the encounter he still would have to deal with a pissed off Rat God, LOL! ;)
