Do you want to try a game via conference call? We do this for work all the time, why not an RPG? If you're interested send me an email and I can look into the technical details.

Can also use TeamSpeak or Ventrilo. :)

Same. ...ish.

I have a group I've been gaming with since 1992 -- but we have multiple GMs, and I had a long stint GMing prior to DCC's release. I might manage some one-offs, at some point.

But if I ever find myself in NY state -- Ogre, I'm phoning you... Or, more likely, just shouting your screen name until someone answers positively...

If your anywhere near our part of NY, do yourself a favor and flee for your sanity!

Oh, you're also in the wasteland???

But, if I show up, we'd have three -- that's gamable!

Yeah, Karaptis is about an hour-and-change drive away from me across the scorched, post-apocalyptic landscape that is upstate/western New York. A desolate place where even cows can't believe how bored they are. "O, that way madness lies."

I love the theory of a conference call, but I work until minimum 11pm most nights and my days off are Sunday and Monday nights (and Sundays I have a prior commitment), so in practice it'd be more of a struggle to include me. Honestly, that's most of the reason why I'm not part of a gaming group: my weird work schedule.

(Trust me, I'm trying to find a different job. I mean, I NEED my D&D fix and I ain't gettin' it.)

If you still want to attempt this crazy....what'd you kids call it? telephone?....idea, I'm willing to try!

I run an open DCC game on Google+ every other Saturday. Anybody is welcome to join. I also highly recommend G+ if you are looking to run your own game. DCC has a very high interest level there, and you won't have any problem putting together a group.

That would mean learning, like, tech, or something...

It could happen...

Thanks for the invite. :D

[offtopic]

There are lots of great ways to game remotely these days. I've been playing in a DCC campaign over Google+ Hangouts using Tabletop Forge and it has worked great. I've also judged a one-shot over Google+ Hangouts as well.

Sorry I have been away from the boards for a bit. Yes, I would like to play online. Let me look into the said programs mentioned. The good news is it looks like some poor soul is trying to make a go at a gaming store down the street. Hopefully it doesn't result in the same BO ridden lost souls playing Tragic the Gathering and thus closing yet another gaming store here in Damnation Alley!

game via conference call?

I pulled the "game via conference call?" part out of the "don't like about" thread. I'll eventually move this thread, but wanted folks to be able to find it while they are still planning their conference call game. 8)

I will just add that Google+ is a great place for gamers to talk gaming and find others to game with online. I run a one-shot of DCC here and there and post my open slots over on Google+. There are other people running games over there as well. Don't be afraid of the tech, it is pretty easy to get things going and there are at least two easy to use virtual tabletops for basic mapping and dice rolling.

Good call. I tend to go off topic. Sorry about that.

No problem. Sometimes a topic just leads other places then where originally planned.

I thought it was good discussion, but would be lost in a "dislike" thread.
