I had another basic question about Shanthopal. Do you intend for it to be geographically in the center of the world (at least as far as trade routes go) and basically your version of a Lankmar? Would you construct the map similarly to Newhon, thinking of the setting as a far future deal where some of the geography is morphed but still recognizable?

Shanthopal is intended to be the geographical centre of the campaign milieu. The geographical centre of the world is an entirely different matter! Certainly there are other places in that milieu which view themselves as the "centre".

Shanthopal is where trade roads meet and cultures clash. To most of the campaign world, Shanthopal is on the edge of the borderlands; what they determine as the centre is very much their own network and culture. Thus, various sojourners to Shanthopal think that they have come here from very far East, or West, or North, or South of the centre of the world. Some have come from even farther, and no part of this world at all.....

If I do decide to develop this as a product, it will not be until next year; I've a lot on my plate right now (including http://www.indiegogo.com/squidsorcerer, http://www.indiegogo.com/Unusualsuspects, and a few modules for various parties)! Should I do so, I would want to have all of the primary writing done before I started funding, including the primary writing for at least five modules that took place in the setting as bonus material.

So, maybe next summer or fall. Depending upon how things go.

I would certainly look forward to it. Of course you could publish articles serially in Crawl! if you so wish and then publish the whole deal later. Best of luck with this!

I hate to bump an old thread, but I was wondering if anything else had been done on this? I would love to see more about the Gods and Powers of Shanthopal.

It's all good. I'm really looking forward to seeing a finished product though. :D
